Amy joins us with over 8 years of professional grooming experience ✂️ and brings a special passion for working with big, ol’ dogs! She shares her home in the Black Diamond area with her beloved 9-year-old Dane x Lab mix, Gibbs. 🐕

When she’s not at her grooming table, you can find Amy enjoying riverside walks or exploring local breweries. 🍻 She has a huge passion for travel ✈️ and just spent the last year + exploring 🥾 the US and enjoying the van camping life! ⛺️ 🏜️

Meet the lovely, Heidi, one of our very favourite people and Client Specialists at our busy, Killarney location!

A born and raised Calgarian, Heidi earned a BA from the University of Calgary 📜 last year and dreams of being a screenwriter ✍️ or comedian! 🎤

Heidi is a joy to work with and LOVES the dogs we care for every day; her fave part of the job is witnessing their silly antics and getting to know their little idiosyncrasies! At home, she loves a Golden Retriever, Pancakes 🥞, and a Calico Cat named, Audrey ❤️!

When she’s not at work you can find Heidi diving into new and random crafts or exploring recreational activities around Calgary with her friends, like swimming pools and roller rinks! This gal literally tries it all!

Applications for Spay and Neuter Clinic are open! 🩺

Calgary Humane Society’s Community Spay & Neuter Clinics are available to low-income families to address pet overpopulation in Calgary. Low-income pet owners can now apply to have their dog or cat spayed/neutered 🐶🐱. Please note proof of income is required based on the Calgary Market Basket Measure (MBM).

Ew, Yuck! 🦠🤢💩

Yup, we’re talking about dog germs! Whether your pup is prancing around the dog park, wrestling in their favorite dog daycare or sitting in the waiting room next to a scratchy, hacking dog at the vet’s office... your dog has potential to be exposed to a variety of germs and bugs as they navigate this big ol’ world, like the social butterfly they are.

Just like little kids who attend daycare or school, it’s not just happy memories that our pets are sharing, they’re spreading around germs too! You (and we) can take every precaution possible and still have an exposure between seemingly healthy dogs, so we’ve put together some information and tips for you on how to keep your best friend healthy and happy as they navigate symptoms, and how to prevent the spread to their friends. 🐶 🩺

Head over to our Dog Germs 101 Blog to get the lowdown on all the grossest things about pet ownership! If your bestie is experiencing loose stool, vomiting, lethargy, a hacking cough or the sniffles, please keep your pet home until symptoms subside or you get the okay from your vet. Dogs found to have lice can return to play 10-14 days after treatment, at the direction of your veterinarian.
