March 31st marks Trans Day of Visibility, a time to celebrate the trans community and reflect on the important work that still needs to be done to ensure inclusion, safety and belonging for everyone.

We cannot talk about visibility without also acknowledging the many threats to trans identities occurring in our communities, the impact of these realities, and the ongoing need for reflection, education and advocacy.

Dignity is a core value at CUPS that we demonstrate each time we welcome folks into our spaces, ensuring they feel safe, supported and free from judgement. We are committed to being an inclusive organization for trans and gender-diverse folks, where everyone walking through our doors knows you are always welcome at CUPS.

Today we encourage you to take the time to celebrate and amplify trans voices, reaffirm your commitment to inclusivity, and learn more about some amazing Calgary organizations doing important work in this space, including: , , , and

March is Liver Health Month, and today we’re chatting with the CUPS Liver Clinic Team about what the clinic does at CUPS, sharing information about Hepatitis C, and why liver health is so important.
We’re immensely grateful to TD Bank Group for their generous support of CUPS Calgary and the CUPS Liver Clinic.

Many of our clients face significant barriers to accessing healthcare, but thanks to their investment, we’ve been able to deliver life-saving treatments, education, and ongoing support to individuals on their journey to better liver health and recovery.
Thank you to TD Canada for their dedication to the health and well-being of our community. Your support is making a transformative impact in the lives of those we serve.

March is National Social Work Month!

At CUPS, we’re grateful for the incredible social workers on our frontlines who support clients every day to navigate complex systems, access resources, and advocate and empower individuals to create meaningful change in their lives.

We chatted with a few of the social workers here at CUPS to learn more about their experience and the field of social work.

Across the country, social workers show up in countless ways with compassion, resilience, and dedication.

This month, we recognize and celebrate social workers at CUPS and beyond for their commitment to building better systems and stronger communities.

For this month's CUPian Spotlight, meet Chloe, CUPS' Financial Accountant!

"As a Financial Accountant at CUPS, I am responsible for maintaining accurate financial records in compliance with accounting standards.

My duties include processing expenses and funding, performing reconciliation, resolving discrepancies and supporting month-end close activities and financial reporting.

Through these responsibilities, our finance team delivers timely and reliable financial information to management and funders.

Yes numbers are boring, but the financial work at CUPS is more than just numbers-it is about helping clients to create a safe environment, meet their needs and build their lives.

By supporting our frontline staff and listening to their stories over the past two years, I have developed a deeper understanding of trauma-informed care in Calgary.

These experiences are unique and meaningful to me, which I had never encountered in my previous workplaces.

Outside of CUPS, you can find me exploring natures, playing board games, trying new recipes and doing handicraft."

Thank you Chloe for all of the important work you do!

Today we stopped by VCA Canada to see the CUPS Vet Clinic in partnership with in action.

For more than 15 years, this partnership has helped CUPS participants access veterinary care for their beloved pets.

Thank you to the coordinators and students from the University of Calgary Faculty of Veterinary Medicine for continuing to deliver this important service and ensuring our clients’ furry friends get the care they deserve.

Today we spoke to Lina, one of CUPS’ clients. Through our Connect 2 Care program, Lina accessed critical supports she needed to secure housing, maintain sobriety and move towards long term stability.

Stories like Lina’s remind us why integrated, compassionate care matters.

Thank you, Lina, for sharing your story!
