Today we said goodbye to our amazing receptionist Jill as she is taking on a new position. To our wonderful clients she was the sweet smile as you came into the clinic in the afternoons and the kind voice answering your phone calls. But to us she was so much more and we will miss her so much. Thank you for your kindest, teamwork, and most of all your friendship. We miss you already but wish you all the best in your new adventure.

SCM is hiring a part-time receptionist (15-20 hours per week- potential for more hours for vacation or sick time coverages).

We are looking for someone to be the friendly and warm presence at our front desk. The successful candidate with have exceptional customer service skills and will be someone who can take initiative and work independently.

Experience not necessary but an asset
$18-20 starting wage

Location: Douglasdale Professional Building.

South Calgary midwives is a professional medical clinic that offers midwifery services as well as acupuncture, massage, chiropractic care, lactation support, and pelvic floor physio therapy.

Skills and Duties:
Exceptional inter-professional skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently
Greeting customers in person and over the phone.
Faxing and communicating with other medical offices and hospitals
Booking client appointments using Jane software
Uploading labs and ultrasounds using Maternity Neighbourhood software
Accepting payment using Jane or Square.
Light housekeeping duties.
Direct billing for Allied Health Practitioners

Some of you have already met Sofia but here is a little bit more about her!

Hello everyone! My name is Sofia and I am a final-year midwifery student at Mount
Royal University here in Calgary. I am thrilled to be under the mentorship of Ali and Caroline here at South Calgary Midwives.

I knew in my early teens that I was interested in and passionate about reproductive health. Midwifery was on my radar throughout my adolescence and young adulthood, but before I began my studies at Mount Royal, I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in music and English at the University of British Columbia. When I studied there, I also took many
courses in feminism and family sociology. These courses made me sure that I wanted to be involved in this area of healthcare. My biggest goal as a student midwife is to help midwifery clients feel (and know) that they play an active and participatory role in their prenatal care, birth, and postpartum care.

In my spare time, I enjoy writing, playing video games, playing my musical instruments, and reading. Thank you for helping me grow in my education and inviting me to be a part of your
care team. I look forward to getting to know you all!
