The last 6 months have been a whirlwind as I set up my practice at Innovative Sport Medicine, became more established in the Structural Integration modality, and added a new puppy at home. Looking forward to reconnecting with everyone and continue to add some educational posts about what I do. I have had some amazing posture changing miracles go down in my treatment room. It’s been so exciting to witness it and be a part of it. Word is getting out and I am now booking 3-4 months in advance albiet the odd cancellation may appear. Something I could only dream of happening years ago when I was only doing massage.
Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and look forward to seeing you in the New Year!

A big annoucement! I am moving my practice from Mission to Mayfair effective June 1, 2022. I will be joining the team at Innovative Sport Medicine located at Mayfair place on the corner of Elbow and Glenmore. There is a great team of elite professional sport medical doctors, physiotherapy, athletic therapists, massage therapists, sport psychologists, gait analysis, and more! Please join me there where I will be working in a larger, quieter space. It will be a great one stop shopping place for you to become your best self!
There is free patient parking right out front of the clinic.
We are actively getting everything ready and organized. If you want to book now, please contact me directly until everything is set up on Innovative’s booking system.

Today I begin my third round of Structural Integration 12 series. I am pretty excited! Why am I doing this again I am sure you are asking. Many reasons. My first 2 times, it was under a lot of duress and I wasn’t able to enjoy the journey and learn from the therapist.
The position of my left shoulder on my rib cage has not been addressed due to the surgery that was needed. That surgery was done 3 months ago and is healing nicely. I think my shoulder is ready.
Due to the pandemic and my time more focused on school and work, my gym training has not been as regimented or intense. I am noticing changes in my body that are making my workouts more difficult. Running and breathing heavily suddenly are complicated. I would like to get back to intensive workouts.
The repetitive motion of my arms in my job has my arms in a twisted position. I want to get this addressed as it wasn’t the first priority in my other sessions.
A common low back problem is L5 rotated on the SI joint. I recently had mine Xrayed. It’s at a severe degenerative state. I am going to stay on top of this to prevent it from getting worse.
My jaw is shifting sharply to the left and changing the shape of my face. One side is full, the other side is collapsed and sunken. Going to the dentist is no fun when my jaw doesn’t move so good. It will be tough to get this fixed entirely, but every mm will help.
And finally, I have been working with a somatic emotional release therapist and I believe my body is ready to be fuller and open rather than collapsed.
Phew it’s a long list! She has her worked cut out. Looking forward to sharing my journey of change.

Structural Integration is based around a fascia release in the body. But what is fascia you may be asking? Check out this video where you can see fascia on a human body and how it is so connected within. This video is conducted by doctors and scientists as they introduce this fascia exhibit for the Body Worlds Museum. So yes, this a real body, plastinated. When I have gone to Body Worlds, there is a whole lot of reading and one doesn’t get the perspective from the artist. Here you can. This is not only geared for professionals but also for the public to help you understand. It’s quite fascinating if you are interested in fascia or just curious to learn about your body.

The field of fascia research has undergone remarkable expansion and growth in the last decade, which is shaping the progression of many related fields. In or...
