Each one of our Villages came together for a cause close to many of our hearts.

We are proud to share that residents, families, staff, and friends across all 16 Golden Life Villages raised $30,000 this year in support of the Alzheimer Society. With this year’s contributions, Golden Life’s collective fundraising efforts have now surpassed $80,000—funds that will support life-changing research, vital advocacy, and programs for families and caregivers.

Golden Life extends heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed—the residents who participated, the families who donated, the staff who organized events, and the broader communities who showed up with open hearts. From bake sales to carnivals, walks to auctions, each effort has made a lasting impact.

August was buzzing with activity across our Villages! From leis and laughter at Grand Seton Village’s Hawaiian Day to sweet smiles on National Donut Day at Rose Wood Village, residents made the most of the summer sunshine.

Ocean View Village residents even enjoyed a dance at a free community concert, while Whispering Winds Village enjoyed a scoop (or two!) of ice cream together.

It was a month full of flavour, fun, and unforgettable moments!

What an incredible 48-Hour Challenge for Alzheimer’s! Residents, staff, families, and friends across all of our Villages hit the ground walking, running, and cycling to raise awareness and support for the Alzheimer Society of B.C. and the Alzheimer Society of Calgary.

Most importantly, every kilometre was taken in honour of those impacted by Alzheimer’s and the caregivers who support them each day.

Thank you to everyone who joined us. You’ve made this year’s Challenge a true success!

Join us for the Anything for Alzheimer’s Walk on Friday, September 19 at Castle Wood Village in Castlegar.

Over the years, thanks to the dedication and generosity of our communities, Golden Life Villages have raised more than $50,000 in support of the Alzheimer Society of B.C. This year, we’re projected to raise over $20,000. Join us on September 19 and be part of this meaningful cause.

This community event is open to everyone. Walk with us in support of those living with Alzheimer’s and their families, and enjoy a day filled with connection and purpose.

Schedule of events:
• Silent auction, craft and bake sale from 10:00 AM – 2:30 PM
• Registration at 10:00 AM
• Walk begins at 11:00 AM (short and long routes)
• BBQ lunch at 12:00 PM
• Live music at 1:30 PM

There is no minimum pledge and no entry fee. Everyone is welcome.

Our very own Kyle Piscopo recently joined 107.5 2day FM - CFSM in Cranbrook to share why he’s participating in the 48-Hour Alzheimer’s Challenge and what the event means for each of our Villages.

From September 5-7, staff, families, and friends across Golden Life Villages in Western Canada will walk, run, or cycle 4 miles (6.4 km) every 4 hours for 48 hours, either solo or as part of a team. Every step supports the Alzheimer Society of B.C. and the Alzheimer Society of Calgary.

It’s a chance to come together, show support for those living with Alzheimer’s, and celebrate the caregivers who walk this journey every day.
