Perfection: The day, the weather, the location, the hoarfrost thick on the trees. Not perfect: my skiing ability, my ability to stick to my own timeline (got there two hours later than I had planned), my ability to make an inspirational video for a reel (accidentally double-pressed Record so all I ended up with was one second of nothing, plus a couple of photos like this one).
Perfection, and the pressure of not doing something unless I knew I would do it “perfectly”, has been something I have struggled with for my entire life. In the last few years I’ve been trying to let that go, and I have a feeling I’m going to get even better at it in 2026. Does that mean I’m going to get more perfect at allowing myself to be imperfect?? Deep thoughts!
Perfection isn’t necessary, or even ideal. Just do what you can, and be proud of yourself. Be gentle with yourselves, friends.
