The Schroth breathing method, or Rotational Angular Breathing (RAB), is a specialized, 3D therapy technique designed for scoliosis and kyphosis to derotate and stabilize the spine. It focuses on breathing into the concave (inward-bent) side of the spine, expanding the ribs to counteract rotation, improve chest symmetry, and manage pain. Basically, you teach yourself to breathe using one lung. (The concave side)
The Schroth Method is a physical therapy approach to scoliosis treatment. It is based on exercises tailored to each patient’s spine curvature.
