The first 40 days after birth matter more than most people realize. In Chinese Medicine, this is a sacred period to rebuild qi + blood and promote long term recovery.

We focus on things such as bonding, rest, warmth and slower living 🤍 If you are navigating postpartum or beginning to prepare for it, this is your reminder that rest is medicine.

I know meeting a newborn is exciting but remember the focus during this time. Keep visits PLANNED and short, ask how you can support (food is amazing), wash your hands and stay home if you even have a little sniffle or cough.

Cortisol seems to be the talk lately and it’s for good reason! We often think of it as the stress hormone but when it is out of sync it starts to trickle down through your entire endocrine system. When cortisol stays elevated you may start to notice these things as it starts to steal resources from your s*x hormones like estrogen and progesterone.

Your hormones fluctuate throughout the month, so should your exercise! When you move with your cycle you are meeting your body where it’s at 🤍

In your menstrual phase, embrace rest and gentle movement. As hormones rise through your follicular phase and peak at ovulation, strength and the desire for social meet ups follow! Then, as you move into the luteal phase, it’s time to start thinking about slowing down and grounding again.

You may have always chalked these up to “just part of having a period” buuut this is not the case! Heavy bleeding, barely there periods, painful cramps, and mood swings are all signs your body is asking for support 💛
