Eye care for seniors is essential as they are at a high risk of developing blinding eye diseases. One of the ways we contribute to the community is by providing comprehensive eye exams in senior homes where the residents have limited access and mobility. As some of our staff are bilingual, we are able to provide services in both English, Cantonese, Mandarin and French.

Diabetes can be very, very serious. 4 things you did not know about diabetes.

✨Diabetes can affect nearly every part of the body including the eyes.

✨Without careful management, it can cause prescription changes, cataracts, glaucoma and bleeding inside the eye.

✨ Bleeding inside the eye is known as diabetic retinopathy (DR) The longer a person has diabetes, the more likely they will develop DR. If left untreated, DR can cause blindness.

Cataract is the clouding of the eye’s crystalline lens. Can you see the white spikes at the edges of the pupil? This can cause symptoms of glare, especially in a dark environment.

Cataracts are an age-related condition. UV exposure, smoking, diabetes and certain medications can cause early onset of cataracts.
