I am a Calgary based DONA International certified full spectrum birth doula, a current and active member of the Calgary Doula Association (CDA), a student Midwife at Mount Royal University, and a Loss Doula/Family Advisor in training through Loss Doulas International. My journey into birth work began around two years ago when my passion for pregnancy, birth, women, and families became apparent due to personal loss and trauma. I felt a burning desire for women to be aware of their options, and to be surrounded by an informed and supportive birth culture. I am extremely passionate about bodily autonomy, reproductive health rights, women's rights, Indigenous rights, LGBTTIQQ2SA+ rights, rural access to health care, and abortion access. I received my birth doula training through DONA International at Mount Royal University, and have since been practicing for a year and a half. Since my training, I have attended a variety of educational workshops and conferences such as When Survivors Give Birth, and Flock Yeah. I have also undergone my Loss Doula Training through Loss Doulas International and am currently working towards obtaining full certification. I have served and continue to serve a wide variety of individuals and their families, all with greatly different dynamics, circumstances, and experiences. I believe that every pregnant individual deserves unconditional support free of judgement throughout their entire journey, and I am a firm believer that there is a doula for every individual who seeks one. I support families through their experiences without bias or prejudice, and stand with every decision they believe is best for them. My goal is to ensure that you feel at ease, confident, and empowered before, during, and after your birthing experience. I strongly believe in supporting not only the pregnant individual and their choices, but also their partner and whatever relationship they may have. I respect and am inspired by the vulnerability and intimacy between not only the birthing individual and their baby, but the birthing individual and those they choose to have relationships with. Being invited into one of the most extraordinarily challenging, truthfully raw, and vulnerable moments of you and your family’s lives is not something I take lightly, as it as a great honour and privilege. I have discovered my path and passion, and look forward to sharing it with the world!
