Little Bee Gallery, founded 15 months ago by Calgary-based Melanie Mireault and Suzanne Mireault in Winnipeg, has already raised enough through their gallery to cover all physiotherapy and therapy intensives for their nephew Beckett. Now, internationally recognized artists are donating work to what the founders call
the “Friends of Little Bee” program.

A family-run online art gallery that donates 100% of net proceeds to fund therapy for a child with cerebral palsy is attracting established artists from across North America who want their work to make a direct, measurable impact. It takes a village — and ours is pretty special

Our children’s programs don’t run without volunteers who show up with patience, kindness, and a willingness to learn. From cheering on first milestones to supporting confidence and independence, volunteers play a huge role in creating inclusive experiences for kids with disabilities.

If you’ve ever wanted to make a real difference (and have a lot of fun doing it), we’d love to meet you.

Our Winter Go Green Contest runs January 19 through February 28. Donate clothing or household items and you could win a $100 gift card!

Here’s how to join in:

For Home Pickups:
Schedule a pickup and donate as usual — we’ll keep track of the total amount you give.

For Donation Bins:
Drop off your items at one of our bins and snap a quick photo of:
1. You at the bin, and
2. Your donations beside the bin before they go in.

Then tag us on social media or email your photos to donationspickup@cpalberta.com to enter!

Every donation supports individuals and families in the disability community across the province of Alberta — and now it could earn you a reward too!

Congratulations to Wince from Calgary, our December contest winner!

“It was so helpful and easy to book a pickup online. I received a confirmation and the drivers came on time. This service is very convenient.” -Wince

Calgary Parks is super stoked to introduce a new pilot amenity: Winter All-Terrain Wheelchairs (ATW)!

These wheelchairs help families and individuals with mobility challenges enjoy North Glenmore Park and Prairie Winds Park— on snow, ice trails, and pathways. Doesn’t matter what the ground looks like, you’re good to go!

“Winterized ATWs are life-changing. They remove barriers and let families fully enjoy outdoor experiences,” says Sheralee Stelter, from CP Kids & Families.

The basics:

💺 Choose a chair with wheels for paths & rinks, or skis for deep snow.

✅ Free to reserve via a Live and Play account.

📅 Pilot runs now through early March.

We don't want snow or ice to stop anyone from enjoying our parks: book your ATW today and discover the joy of winter outdoors!
