The Calgary Korean Canadian Choir (CKCC) was established in 2009 with a vision to establish a symbolic presence of the Korean culture and community in Calgary through choral music and performing arts. The organization was incorporated as the Calgary Korean Canadian Choir Society in 2014 in accordance with the Society Act. Since the inception, the Calgary Korean Canadian Choir (CKCC) has arranged small and large concerts and performances for general public in and around Calgary area. The main mission and objectives of the Calgary Korean Canadian Choir Society are to:
• promote and enhance public interest in and appreciation of choral music
• foster goodwill and community spirit through musical performances to various audiences at community events
• maintain excellence in training and performance through a diversified repertoire encompassing classical, folk, popular and contemporary including Korean folk music, Korean popular and Korean contemporary. The CKCC as a community choir enhances and enriches overall personal and social health of the group members as well as the general public by providing social support and community activity. One of our major activities is to connect with senior citizens regularly through choral music. Our plan also includes the connection to other special groups such as the disability community. The Calgary Korean Canadian Choir Society plays an integral part of multicultural mosaic society by providing musical performances through a diversified repertoire.
캘거리 한인 합창단 (CKCC)은 합창 음악 및 공연 예술을 통해 한국문화와 캘거리 한인사회의 상징적인 존재로 성장하기위한 비전을 가지고 2009 년에 설립되었습니다. 창단 후 5년이 지난2014년에는 알버타 사회법 (Alberta Society Act)에 따라 캘거리 한인 합창단 협회로 통합되고 구체적으로 비영리단체로서의 자리를 잡게 되었습니다.
캘거리 한인 합창단은 창단 이래 캘거리와 인근지역의 주민들을 위해 크고 작은 콘서트와 공연을 마련하여 한국문화를 홍보하고 있습니다. 작게는 캘거리 지역의 양노원들을 해마다 찾아서 노인어른들과 음악에 대한 사랑을 나누었고, 크게는 광복 70주년 기념 공연에 초대를 받아서 서울 예술의 전당에서 국립 합창단 및10개국에서온 다른 합창단들과 70,000명의 관객 앞에서 공연을 했습니다. 커뮤니티 합창단으로서, 한국 가곡에서부터 클래식 또는 대중 음악을 포함한 다양한 레퍼토리를 가지고 다문화 사회의 아주 중요하고 없어서는 안될 단체로 지난 13년동안 꾸준히 성장해왔습니다.
