We’re excited to be offering a new MOA position. This post is for someone to join our existing team as our practice continues to grow.
We are a busy Family Practice in Royal Oak NW Calgary.
We currently have 6 full time family physicians.

We are looking for someone to help assist with the increasing workload.

Principal job requirements would be

• Answering the phone, greeting and registering patients
• Responding to patient inquiries in person and by phone
• Initiating forms, creating billings, and collecting payment for services not covered by insurance
• Scheduling and notifying patients of appointments
• Scanning patient documents into Electronic Medical Records as required
• Opening mail, receiving faxes, and distributing as appropriate
• Escorting patients to exam or treatment rooms and preparing patients for physicians
• Cleaning and preparing exam and treatment rooms between patients
• Performing Blood pressure readings (using automated BP monitor) height and weight as requested by the physician
• Offering to chaperone for physicians when required

Knowledge, skills and experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Medical Office Assistance Qualification is an asset
• Recent customer service experience
• Experience with Med Access of Electronic Medical Records
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Problem solving skills
• Must be able to handle confidential information in compliance with the Health Information Act

Principal responsibilities include:
- answering phones, greeting and registering patients
- escorting to the exam room and preparing patients for the physicians
- responding to patient enquires in person and on the phone
- cleaning and preparing the exam room between patient visits
- performing blood pressure readings (automated machine), temperature readings, height and weight
- scheduling and notifying patients of their appointments

It’ll soon be mandatory to wear masks in all indoor public spaces to reduce the transmission of COVID-19. Some people are concerned they do not get enough oxygen when wearing the masks. Dr. Bhangra demonstrated that oxygen saturation’s do not drop when you wear your mask.
Please help each other limit the spread. Stay safe. Wear your masks. Do your part to save lives
