Meet Corina! Corina one of the Directors of Optimum Perinatal Health and has a passion and a keen interest in  female  pelvic health and perinatal care. Corina has completed extensive postgraduate training in pelvic health physiotherapy, with particular expertise in helping women experiencing symptoms of incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, pregnancy-related conditions, post-obstetrical trauma, and pelvic pain. Corina has most recently completed training in pessary fitting and care.
Corina is a mom of 4 and  enjoys an active lifestyle, spending time  with her family.

Meet Lisa, one of our pelvic health physios. Lisa loves helping women during their pregnancy and postpartum journey. As a mother of two, she understands the value and support that pelvic physio can provide. She is trained in treating urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, diastasis recti abdominis, pelvic pain and pelvic girdle pain.

Meet Ashley, one of our pelvic health physios. As a busy mother of two she understands the importance of supporting women through their pregnancy and post partum journey. Ashley enjoys staying active and has a passion for educating and guiding her clients through a safe return to weight lifting and running after having babies. She also specializes in treating pregnancy related pelvic girdle pain, urinary incontinence and is certified in pessary fitting. Outside of work she loves to stay active with her two young kids and her lazy little French bulldog.

Meet Gina!
Gina is one of the Directors of Optimum Perinatal Health. She enjoys working with clients during their pregnancies to prepare for labour and delivery and also postpartum to help with recovery and safe return to activity. Gina is also experienced in treating low back pelvic girdle, tailbone pain abdominal separation(DRA) and pelvic health concerns. She is a mom of two and enjoys spending time with her family in the mountains, especially cross country skiing in the winter! Gina recently went back to school and is in her first year of medical school at the University of Calgary, but is still seeing a few physiotherapy clients at Optimum Perinatal Health.

Christmas is just around the corner!
Do you know what works your pelvic floor in a truly functional way? Balance!! Tree pose is great for feeling steady and grounded. It really challenges your leg and core strength and stability. Stand tall with your rib cage stacked over your neutral pelvis, and ground down through your feet. As you exhale, bend one leg up and place the foot to the inside of your other leg, either below or above the knee joint (whatever feels more comfortable for you). Please be careful not to place your foot directly on the inside of your knee. Stand tall and breathe deeply.
