Shoveling snow may seem harmless, but every year we see preventable injuries from improper lifting, twisting, and overexertion.🄶

Cold temperatures make muscles tighter. Wet snow adds unexpected weight. Repetitive bending and twisting puts significant stress on your lower back and hips.

The biggest risk comes from combining rotation and lifting. That uneven load increases strain on spinal joints, discs, and surrounding muscles.

Make sure to bend through your hips and knees (not your waist), keep the shovel close to your body, and take regular breaks.

āš ļøIf you feel sharp pain, radiating discomfort down your leg, or numbness, stop immediately. Those symptoms should not be ignored.
