Prostate Cancer Centre

Prostate Cancer Centre We're committed to early detection, education, and saving lives in Alberta.

Prostate Cancer Centre is a not-for-profit dedicated to men's health, offering research, support programs, and the MAN VAN®, Canada's first mobile men's health clinic. While 1 in 6 men in Alberta will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during their lifetime, not all men are fortunate enough to have access to the Prostate Cancer Centre. The Prostate Cancer Centre is a revolutionary made-in-Calgary success story unique in North America. The Centre is independently operated, and funded entirely through the generosity of donors and sponsors. The Centre is entirely patient-focused; guiding and supporting men through the entire process. Comprehensive programming starts with encouraging men to get checked, providing a mobile early detection clinic, offering educational programming, medical treatment, after care, counseling and includes research and advocacy.

We are celebrating the Super Bowl Party from two weeks ago organized by Carbon Psychology 🏈💙

At our Super Bowl Party, the community came together and raised an incredible $19,702 in support of the PCC. This was just the beginning. In its very first year, this event made an INCREDIBLE impact, and we can’t wait to see it grow and flourish each year in support of men’s health.

But behind this cheque is something even more powerful. After Katrina’s dad passed from cancer, she discovered a notebook he had kept during the last year of his life. Often written in the middle of the night, its pages held his fears, his grief, his deep love for his kids, and his gratitude for life, words he carried largely on his own.

She felt something she can never un-feel: too many men carry their deepest pain alone.

This is why Katrina and the PCC are so dedicated to Men's health.

Thank you to Carbon Psychology for leading this initiative, to Eau Claire Athletic Club for hosting, and to every single person who showed up and gave generously. Your support helps ensure men facing cancer don’t have to walk it alone.

Richard (Ricky) and his wife Nora are beginning a 800km pilgrimage along the Camino De Santiago in support of the Prostate Cancer Centre this April. 💙

When Richard (Ricky) Seto was diagnosed with metastatic late-stage prostate cancer in July 2023, life instantly changed for him and his wife, Nora. Now almost three years later and with his cancer still controlled through ADT Therapy, the couple are preparing for their next big adventure.

You can support Richard and Nora on the "The Ricky Race – Part 2: The Road to Santiago" by making a donation to their fundraiser in support of the Prostate Cancer Centre. The link is in our bio! Every contribution helps ensure that other couples navigating prostate cancer have access to world class treatment, counselling and compassionate care when they need it most.

Prostate cancer is often called a couple’s cancer, because no one goes through it alone.

During Couples Cancer Month, we’re highlighting how the Prostate Cancer Centre supports not only patients, but their partners, caregivers, and families.

These programs are made possible entirely through donor support, with every dollar directly funding services that strengthen communication, connection, and emotional care for couples across Alberta.

This is how we stand beside couples and families through prostate cancer and how your generosity helps save lives. 💙

“We Should Have Faced It Together”

When Monica’s husband Ed was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer, she did not know he had even gone to the doctor.

Like many men, Ed kept his symptoms and fears to himself, believing he was protecting the person he loved most.

She encourages couples to have honest conversations about health and to support one another in seeking testing early, because no one should have to carry cancer alone.

In sharing their story during Couples Cancer Month, Monica speaks to the importance of openness, early detection, and facing cancer as a team. 💙

February is Couple's Cancer Month. 💙 Cancer is a team fight.

Partners living alongside cancer become everything all at once. Caregivers, coordinators, advocates, emotional anchors.

They manage appointments, absorb fear, offer strength on hard days, and help their loved one keep living beyond the diagnosis. Recognizing couples means honoring this invisible, essential work.

Pictured are some of the lovely couples we have had the opportunity to serve.

2025 RECAP VIDEO IS HERE:

As we move into 2026, we’re proud of the progress made and deeply grateful to the community that made it possible. Thank you to the generosity and commitment from our supporters and partners. Because of you, the Prostate Cancer Centre continued to advance care, education, and support for men and their families across Alberta.

The impact of this work is made possible by the dedicated healthcare professionals, volunteers, donors, and advocates who stand behind our mission. Together, we’ve strengthened access to care, supported those navigating diagnosis and treatment, and delivered hope when it was needed most.

With a new year ahead, our focus remains clear. In 2026, we’re committed to expanding our programs, deepening our reach, and driving initiatives that ensure more men receive timely, life-saving care. We’re grateful to have you alongside us as we continue this important work.
