South Calgary Primary Care Network Our Primary Care Network helps physicians collaborate with other providers to enhance care.

The South Calgary Primary Care Network (SCPCN) is a collaborative healthcare organization dedicated to enhancing the health and wellness of our community. Serving the South Calgary area, SCPCN works in partnership with family physicians and healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care. Our multidisciplinary team offers a wide range of services, including chronic disease management, mental health support, nutrition services, and more. At SCPCN, we are committed to continuous improvement and innovation, striving to meet the evolving needs of our patients through professional development and evidence-based practices. For more information, visit www.scpcn.ca

Our programming is developed and delivered in partnership with family doctors and our wellness partners in the community. Research shows that people who are connected to family doctors and visit them regularly have better health outcomes. In addition, they receive better chronic disease care, make fewer visits to the emergency room and are hospitalized less often.

How SCPCN is using AI to support better patient care:

We’re exploring new tools that help reduce administrative burden for family physicians — giving them more time to focus on what matters most: their patients.

We’ve created a short video series with Dr. Adam Morawski demonstrating Scribeberry, an AI transcription tool that streamlines documentation. While the tutorials were designed for clinicians, we’re sharing them publicly so our community can see how innovations like this support efficient, high-quality care.

Food is a central part of many holiday gatherings and traditions; it brings us happiness and comfort, and most importantly, it brings us together.

However, events centered around food may also bring feelings of guilt. Here are some strategies that may help you focus on joy and connection instead of unwanted emotions when gathering with your loved ones this holiday season.

- Slow down and take the time to enjoy your food.
- Listen to your body and notice your hunger and fullness cues.
- Instead of making rules about foods you can or cannot have, give yourself permission to enjoy smaller portions and give yourself time to savour each bite.

When required, a registered dietitian can help you learn about these strategies and implement them in a way that fits your lifestyle and health goals. Meeting with a PCN dietitian is free of charge with a referral from your primary care provider. To learn more or explore our free workshops visit: scpcn.ca
