Today in Therapy Thursdays, Nicole Ward is unpacking what it really means to be "triggered."
Being triggered isn't about being dramatic. It's your brain's stress response (fight, flight, freeze, or fawn) kicking in to protect you. Sometimes that response is helpful. Other times, it reacts to perceived threats that aren't actually dangerous.
Understanding your stress response is the first step towards learning how to calm it and regain control.
