Calgary’s Refugee Health Clinic isn’t just a place for patients to receive care. It’s where people whose lives have been turned upside down begin again, and find connection, compassion and hope.

Due to the healthcare system restructuring, the clinic lost its funding. Thanks to the incredible generosity of donors like TD and Calgary Foundation the clinic had its funding secured for 2 years in 2025.

This means that some of our community’s most vulnerable members will continue to receive the care they need to integrate into the health system and have a chance to build a new, healthy and prosperous future.

Meet the Advanced Care Team for Parkinson’s Disease (ACT-PD), the people behind an innovative pilot project set to revolutionize Parkinson’s care, research, and advocacy in Calgary and Southern Alberta. They are our Heroes in Health!

Led by Dr. Veronica Bruno, this multidisciplinary team is proving that collaborative, compassionate, high-quality care can ease patient and caregiver suffering while reducing ineffective, costly healthcare interactions.

The future of healthcare depends on engaged, curious minds!

That’s why we were so glad to welcome Grade 9 students from Marshall Springs School, who selected Calgary Health Foundation for a project about nonprofits, and wanted to learn more about our mission.

From conversations about healthcare philanthropy to a behind-the-scenes tour, it was a great opportunity to share how community support helps advance care for patients and families.

Last August, construction began for the new Advanced Interventional Radiology Treatment Centre at Foothills Medical Centre.

Calgary Health Foundation’s philanthropic commitment will help this centre transform how care is delivered - bringing consultation, procedures, and recovery into one connected space, supported by state-of-the-art imaging and minimally invasive technology.

That means next-level care and a better experience for patients and physicians every step of the way.

Today, thanks to the ongoing generosity of this community, parts of the space have already begun receiving patients. Yet there’s still work to be done to fully complete this project. With the help of donors like you, we can get more patients better care, faster.
