Calgary Assoc. of Lifelong Learners - CALL The Calgary Association of Lifelong Learners is a dynamic member-led, not-for-profit organization. You are invited to be part of the action.

CALL’s vision is to offer innovative and affordable learning opportunities. CALL is for people who want to engage in learning for the joy of it and to share their knowledge, ideas, experience and interests with others. Programs and activities cover a wide range of topics, from art and culture to politics, health and science. Registrations are accepted on a first-received, first-served basis. Affordability, flexibility in time and place, and a friendly, informal small group approach make our learning programs unique. Members are encouraged to suggest topics for upcoming programs and initiate new learning activities.

Egypt's history goes back over 3000 years and some of that history is revealed in the numerous archeological sites around the country. Frank Spina will share stories and slides that tell the history of Egypt. He will also share his experiences travelling “solo”, the pros and the cons, especially in the city of Cairo.

Where were you in February 1988? Did you attend any of the Olympic Events? Were you one of the 22,000 volunteers? Do you remember the mascots, Hidy and Howdy?
Did you follow the Olympic Torch that started in St. John's, Newfoundland and travelled over 18,000 km across Canada, carried by 6520 Torchbearers.

After several previous bids, Calgary finally won the vote to become the first Canadian host city of the Olympic Winter Games. Among the greatest legacies of these Games are the venues, including the first sliding centre in Canada and the ski jumps at Canada Olympic Park as well as the Nordic centre....

Elizabeth Carson has been in her dream job for the last seven years as the CBC Eyeopener restaurant critic. You can listen to her opine about restaurants; the food, cocktails, service and decor every Friday morning on CBC radio or catch it later online or on the CBC app.

As you get older have you been thinking about "When to Park the Keys?"
CALL invites you to hear about ways to stay a safe driver in later life and how to know when to stop.
Speaker: Sharon Grolmus has been a Driving Instructor, Chief Instructor as well as a Senior Instructor in Alberta for 47 years and 35 of those have been with AMA.
Registration not required. Public invited at a cost of $5 (at the door).
