Topic: “Clinical Study on Acupuncture's Improvement of PTSD-Related Fear, Anxiety, and Depression and Exploration of Its Mechanism”
About the Speaker, Dr. Hong Zhang.
Professor
Chief Acupuncture/TCM Doctor
PhD Students Supervisor/Mentor
Professor Hong Zhang has been deeply engaged in the field of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for 42 years, dedicating herself to clinical practice, teaching, and scientific research. She advocates an integrated diagnostic and treatment system that connects principles (理), methods (法), formulas (方), acupoints (穴), and techniques (术) into a coherent whole.
Her research focuses on “clinical efficacy evaluation and mechanism study of acupuncture in brain-related diseases”, leading her team in major national research projects on Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI). Standing at the forefront of academic research, she continuously explores new and uncharted areas. From clinical trials to mechanism studies, her team combines behavioral science, histomorphology, molecular biology, and neuroelectrophysiology to investigate the clinical efficacy and mechanisms of acupuncture in treating psychosomatic disorders such as PTSD.
Professor Zhang has presided over three National Natural Science Foundation projects, with several related papers recognized as “Top 100 High-Impact Academic Papers” by the Chinese Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Elsevier Highly Cited Papers. Her team has received numerous honors, including the Second Prize of the Sichuan Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award and the Huaxia Medical Award.
This lecture will cover the following three aspects:
Basic Syndrome Differentiation, Treatment Principles, and Mechanisms of Acupunctur in Mental and Emotional Disorders.
Operational Techniques and Clinical Application of the “Tong Du Tiao Shen Panlong Jiaji” Method
Clinical Research and Mechanism Exploration of Acupuncture in Improving PTSD.
