Cannabis has been cultivated for its fibre since 4000 BC and used medicinally in China since 2900 BC. It has has been viewed and used differently by human cultures over the millennia. Prohibition in North America halted research into its medicinal use. With history that associated it with controversial issues of racial discrimination and peace movements, cannabis was often portrayed as having a variety of negative effects.
Now, as that stigma, based on false facts and overregulation dwindle, society is seeing the vast, positive uses of this ancient plant.
