We’re proud to introduce our 3-credit high school Sports Psychology course for student athletes in Alberta

Delivered online in partnership with Southern Alberta High School, this course is designed to develop the mindset, awareness, and mental skills athletes need to succeed—both in sport and in life.

Course Breakdown:

Sports Psych 1
When there’s clarity…
When you’ve released what isn’t working…
When you stop relying on hope…
And everything becomes aligned—

Results follow.
Not forced. Not chased.
But created through what now fits.

Sports Psych 2
Part two shifts into balance and perspective.

Athletes will learn how to manage stress and pressure through self-awareness and understanding their environment.
This is where belief begins to build—
Confidence grows, and the ability to face challenges strengthens.

Sports Psych 3
The final phase introduces new processes for higher performance.

Students will explore visualization, self-care strategies, and effective time management—
Developing the mental tools needed to reach new levels of success.

Why this course matters:

The journey of a young athlete isn’t just physical—it’s mental and emotional.

This program, developed by IGM founder Bob Wilkie and mental health clinician Shawn O'Grady, brings together real-life experience and professional insight to help students:
• Understand their challenges
• Build resilience
• Overcome adversity
• Create balance through awareness and skill

Because success isn’t about doing more—
It’s about refining what’s already there until everything works together.

That’s what alignment creates.

As many of you who follow this page may have realized, I’m Bob’s mom and the one managing the posts everyday.

I have the incredible opportunity to manage this page, choosing each day what I share with all of you. I am grateful everyday for this opportunity because I am constantly in awe of Bob's story and all he and his team and partnerships have created. I hope you feel the same level of inspiration and hope that I do everyday.

My intention in every post is always the same: to uplift, inspire, and most importantly, to bring hope and encouragement to everyone who is part of this community, which I believe is the intention of all involved.

One of the most meaningful things I’ve witnessed is how Bob has chosen to respond to what he’s been through. It affects me everyday in a very deep way.

What happened to him wasn’t easy. And healing didn’t happen by chance it took support, the right people, and a willingness to be open, to learn, and to grow.

That willingness became the turning point.

Over time, I’ve seen him develop a deeper appreciation for life, more meaningful relationships, and a level of inner strength he didn’t know he had.

And that transformation didn’t stay personal…

It became his work.

It shaped his company - I Got Mind - and the mission he now shares with others: helping people build resilience after trauma.

If you or someone you know is struggling, there is support.

You don’t have to go through it alone. We are a strong supportive community here to help in any way we can.

Thank you for being here, for following along, and for being part of a space that believes in healing, resilience, and the possibility of growth.

Every player starts somewhere. Bob is an alumni of the Calgary Hockey Community and the Buffalo Hockey Association where he played his midget (U15) level.

Bob, founder & CEO of I Got Mind started in Novice.
Then came Atom. Peewee. Bantam. Midget.

Today, those same stages are called:
🏒 Timbits (U7)
🏒 U11
🏒 U13
🏒 U15
🏒 U18

Different names… same journey.

By 16, Bob had earned his way into the Western Hockey League but what sets him apart isn’t just where he went…

It’s that he speaks from real life experience when he works with the young players their families and coaches.

He’s lived:
• The pressure
• The setbacks
• The doubts
• The grind it takes to keep going

So when he steps into a locker room today, players listen.

Because it’s not theory.
It’s not borrowed knowledge.

It’s real.

Now, through I Got Mind, Bob is back working with:

✔ U11 & U13 building confidence
✔ U15 & U18 pushing toward the next level

Partnering with Calgary youth sports organizations to elevate culture, build resilience, and develop true mental performance.

Because talent might get you noticed…
But mindset built through experience is what lasts.

Full circle.

From living it…
To teaching it…
To building the next generation.

Our Sideways Documentary along with our youth sports programs is changing the narrative around trauma and how being informed changes everything!

Trauma can come from things like accidents, loss, abuse, violence, or even ongoing stress.

Two people can go through the same event, and one may experience trauma while the other may not.

It often leaves a lasting imprint on how someone feels, thinks, and reacts.

Reach out if you have a team or sports organization that supports this work. We are available to help!

There’s a conversation in youth sports that’s been ignored for too long:

We train bodies… but we rarely train minds.

Pressure, expectations, fear of failure, performance anxiety, young athletes carry more than just the game. And without the right tools, that weight can quietly impact confidence, identity, and overall well-being.

That’s why the work being done by I Got Mind matters so much.

They’re not just adding “mindset” as a buzzword, they’re redefining how we support athletes from the inside out.

Through their programs, young athletes learn how to:
✔️ Build real confidence (not just hype)
✔️ Navigate pressure and setbacks
✔️ Develop emotional resilience
✔️ Strengthen focus and self-awareness
✔️ Actually enjoy the game again

This isn’t extra, it’s essential.

Because when you equip athletes with mental wellness tools early, you don’t just create better players… you create stronger, more grounded human beings.

That’s a game changer.

There’s something that lights Bob up in a way that’s hard to describe…

Put him in a room with young hockey players and everything changes. When the parents show up, even better!

It’s not just about the game.
It’s about the moments behind the scenes…
The pressure. The self-doubt. The setbacks. The silent battles no one talks about.

And that’s where his sense of purpose and passion lives.

Watching a young athlete realize they’re not alone…
Seeing them understand how to reset their mindset…
Helping them build real resilience and emotional strength…

That’s what drives him.

Because hockey isn’t just building players,
it’s shaping humans.

And when young athletes learn how to handle adversity, manage emotions, and believe in themselves…
that impact goes far beyond the ice.

This work isn’t just something Bob does.
It’s who he is.

And every time he’s invited to speak…
he shows up all in ❤️
