NICHC - National Indigenous Cannabis & H**p Conference
While Bill C – 45 creates tremendous economic opportunity for the country, it also created unprecedented social and political concerns for Indigenous communities. As raised at a recent BC Assembly of First Nations meeting with Health Canada, the legislation was passed without providing Indigenous communities “the opportunity to be compliant” within the current Federal framework.
Without adequate engagement and consultation, Indigenous communities have been left unprepared. The issues behind Bill C-45 and First Nations become that much more complex once sovereignty, land and treaty rights, self-government, community wellness, economic development, jobs and training, policing and enforcement, etc., come into play.
The NICH Conference is designed to address these questions. It is also designed to create a valuable networking opportunity for those Nations looking to enter into business relationships with other Nations and industry experts.
Our panels of leading Indigenous experts from the fields of medicine, business, law, economic and policy development will address the questions your communities should be asking.
