This week, we’re joining organizations across Canada to recognize Eating Disorders Awareness Week (EDAW), a national movement focused on awareness, understanding, and breaking down the stigma and barriers that prevent people from accessing care.

This year’s theme, “Health doesn’t have a look,” invites us to challenge a deeply rooted myth: that thinness equals health. Messages shaped by diet culture, weight stigma, and healthism don’t just impact individuals...they influence how we talk about food, bodies, movement, and worth in our homes, communities, and health systems.

Eating disorders affect people of all genders, ages, body sizes, abilities, races, and backgrounds. That’s why this week is about learning, unlearning, and taking action, together.

✨ What we’re focusing on this week:
• Challenging harmful body- and food-based messages
• Creating safer, more inclusive spaces that don’t center weight
• Promoting body respect and a more compassionate understanding of health
• Sharing tools and trusted resources that support well-being
