Lymphedema can develop months, or years, after cancer treatment ends.
When cancer treatment ends, most people assume the physical effects do too, but for many cancer survivors, that is when things start to show up:
• Swelling in the arms, hands, legs, or trunk,
• A heaviness or achiness that wasn’t there before,
• Skin that feels tight or full,
• Clothes, rings, or shoes feel like they are fitting differently.
This is a clinical condition that responds well to early intervention, not just a “part of recovery.”
At the clinic, Elizabeth specializes in post-cancer lymphedema and sees patients at every stage, including those who finished treatment years ago and are just now seeing changes.
