It's summer and that means the sunscreen selection at a store near you has gotten a lot bigger and a lot more overwhelming. It’s important to ensure you’re choosing the right sunscreen to protect your skin from UV sun damage. Active ingredients to look for in sunscreen are titanium oxide or zinc oxide because they provide a physical barrier to UV radiation. Another important protection factor to look for is the SPF indicator. We recommend choosing a sunscreen with an SPF of 50 or higher and applying it twice a day at minimum. Always apply your sunscreen 20 minutes before sun exposure and reapply it frequently if you’re outside for long periods of time.
