Across AgeCare communities, residents and staff gathered to honour those who served and sacrificed for our freedom. ❤️
At AgeCare Aylmer (Aylmer, ON), residents created a moving display, a waterfall of hand-knitted and crocheted poppies cascading into a field of wooden ones, a heartfelt tribute to courage and resilience.
At AgeCare SkyPointe (Calgary, AB), residents and families took part in a touching ceremony, laying wreaths in honour of loved ones who served in WWII. Our resident Edna and her daughter honoured her late husband Louis, who fought on the frontlines in Belgium, while Jill remembered her husband, who returned home after being wounded in combat. Residents also crafted poppies to hang in their rooms, learning about the symbol’s meaning and legacy.
At AgeCare Midnapore (Calgary, AB), residents marked the day with a moving ceremony led by the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 285, a powerful reminder of remembrance, respect, and unity.
Across every AgeCare community, the message is the same: we remember their courage, their sacrifice, and the peace they made possible.
Lest we forget. ❤️
