Residents at AgeCare SkyPointe (Calgary, AB) were recently treated to a joyful visit from Mrs Roper YYC, a group inspired by the colourful and spirited character from Three’s Company. Known for “romping around” and spreading happiness wherever they go, the group spent time visiting residents in hospice, long-term care, and supportive living.

The playful outfits, warm conversations, and shared smiles brought a burst of fun to the day. 💙

Building the future of care starts with meaningful conversations.

Recently, Krystal Gaye Smith and Nehal Patel (HR Partners) connected with students at the Seneca Polytechnic Newnham Campus Career Fair, spending time learning about their goals and sharing what a career at AgeCare can look like. From personal support workers and registered practical nurses to dietary aides, the conversations highlighted the many paths that support residents’ daily lives.

Connecting with future caregivers in person helps strengthen teams, support growth, and ensure compassionate care continues for years to come. 💙

The spirit of the Games is alive at AgeCare SkyPointe (Calgary, AB)!

Residents gathered for an Opening Ceremony to launch their own Winter Olympics, complete with a torch run, neighbourhood flags, and the lighting of SkyPointe’s own cauldron. Over the course of the Olympics, neighbourhoods are competing as their own countries in a variety of events, bringing friendly rivalry and shared excitement to the community.

Rashiame, Recreation Therapy Aide, led the group in a heartfelt rendition of O Canada, setting the tone for the competition and bringing everyone together in a meaningful moment of pride and unity. 💙

At Queen's Garden Long-Term Care Residence (Hamilton, ON), Groundhog Day was marked with plenty of fun and fanfare. Program Manager Sue Walsh and recreation team member Ajay donned top hats and capes as they travelled from dining room to dining room to announce the groundhog’s prediction, much to the delight of residents.

The celebration was made even sweeter with special cookies from a local baker, turning the day into a shared moment of laughter and community spirit. 💫

Sometimes, reconnecting with a lifelong passion can make all the difference.

At AgeCare Willowgrove (Ancaster, ON), resident Ron was given the chance to revisit his love of golf during a special outing to an indoor golf simulator. With support from Callie (PSW) and Marisa (Recreation), Ron enjoyed seeing the course on the screen, taking a swing, and holding a golf club again. 💙

Connecting with future caregivers is an important part of building strong, compassionate teams.

Recently, Nehal Patel, Human Resource Partner, and Lorraine Barclay, Personal Support Worker (PSW) Coordinator, at Villa Forum Long-Term Care Residence (Mississauga, ON) represented AgeCare at a job fair at triOS College’s Brampton campus. They spent time speaking with PSW students about their career goals, sharing insights into life at AgeCare, and highlighting the meaningful impact personal support workers have on residents and families every day.

Moments like these help open doors for the next generation of caregivers and strengthen the future of care through conversation, mentorship, and connection.

If you're looking for a rewarding career as a PSW, check out the programs at triOS College: https://hubs.ly/Q04170vN0 and visit https://hubs.ly/Q0416YNr0 to start your PSW career at AgeCare.

Listening to residents and responding in meaningful ways is at the heart of community life.

At AgeCare Trilogy (Scarborough, ON), feedback from the Resident Experience Survey helped inspire a new series of culturally themed meals designed to enrich daily life and create shared moments around food. The first feature of the year, Classic Canadian Comfort Brunch, brought residents together to enjoy familiar flavours and a warm, social atmosphere.
