If I’m honest,
most people start in the wrong place.

They look for something “for pain”, “for blood pressure”, “for fatigue”,
trying to fix each problem separately.

But the body doesn’t work in parts.

When something is off on a deeper level,

Back.

Have you noticed that you often wake up at the same time every night?
And even though you’re tired… your mind suddenly turns on — and that’s it, you can’t fall back asleep.

This is not random.
This is your body speaking.

🧬 1. The biology of sleep: what happens at night

Our sleep is regulated by two key systems:

• Circadian rhythm — your internal clock
• Hormones — melatonin (sleep) and cortisol (wake-up)

At night:
✔️ melatonin should be high
✔️ the body should be relaxed
✔️ the nervous system should be in recovery mode

But when this system is disrupted — you wake up.

🌓 2. Why you wake up at night (deeper view)

Main reasons:

• overloaded nervous system
• stress and anxiety
• blood sugar fluctuations
• liver activity and nighttime detox
• hormonal imbalances
• impaired bile flow

And there is one more very interesting point 👇

In traditional Chinese medicine, there is a concept of the body’s biological clock.
Each organ is most active at a specific time during the night.

Have you noticed that in many recovery protocols

👉 citrus fruits are often removed?

This used to surprise me.
How so — vitamin C, antioxidants… and suddenly “not allowed”?

But when you start looking deeper — it all becomes logical.

🧬 1. It’s not about “harm,” it’s about biochemistry

Citrus fruits are indeed beneficial.
But during the recovery phase, the body responds differently.

📌 In scientific literature, there is a concept:
“individual food reactivity”

And if you just try to “lower the numbers”…
the root cause doesn’t go anywhere.

Here’s what actually works:

1. Reduce inflammation

Because this is what makes your body “patch itself up” with cholesterol.

What helps:
• anti-inflammatory nutrition (I have a great guide — message me and I’ll share it)
• gut support
• reducing toxic load

👉 Without this, cholesterol will keep coming back again and again

2. Stabilize blood sugar & insulin

What matters:
• stop constant snacking

Here are the main hidden causes

1. Chronic inflammation

When your body is inflamed,
it uses cholesterol as a “repair material.”

👉 Cholesterol goes up because your body is trying to protect you —
not harm you.

2. Insulin resistance & blood sugar

High insulin levels signal the liver to produce more cholesterol.

👉 This is why even people who don’t eat much fat

3. Stress & cortisol

CHOLESTEROL: What No One Tells You About Statins

When people talk about statins, it usually comes down to one simple idea:
“they lower cholesterol.”

But their story is far more interesting.

Statins actually originated from the world of fungi — just like antibiotics.
Penicillin was derived from Penicillium, and the first statin, mevastatin (compactin), was discovered by Japanese biochemist Akira Endo in the 1970s from Penicillium citrinum. Later, another natural statin, lovastatin, was isolated from Aspergillus terreus.

This discovery came from a fascinating idea:
if fungi produce substances that suppress competing organisms,
perhaps they can also block key enzymes in the human body.

That’s exactly what statins do — they inhibit an enzyme called
HMG-CoA reductase, which plays a central role in cholesterol production in the liver.



But here’s what really matters

Fungi are not just “natural” —
they are powerful biochemical engineers.

In nature, they survive through competition, producing compounds that:

• suppress the growth of other cells
• block enzymes
• interfere with metabolic processes
• affect fundamental cellular mechanisms

That’s why fungi have given us some of the most powerful medical compounds:

• antibiotics (penicillin, cephalosporins)
• statins (lovastatin, mevastatin)
• immunosuppressants (cyclosporine)
• vascular-active compounds (ergot derivatives)
• even certain anticancer agents



So what does this mean for us?

Statins are not just “cholesterol pills.”
They work by interfering with a core biochemical pathway in the body.

By blocking HMG-CoA reductase, they reduce cholesterol synthesis —
and the liver compensates by pulling more LDL (“bad” cholesterol) out of the bloodstream.

That’s why they are widely used in cardiovascular medicine.



But there’s an important nuance

This pathway — known as the mevalonate pathway —
is not only responsible for cholesterol production.

It is also involved in the synthesis of:

• Coenzyme Q10 (critical for cellular energy and heart function)
• steroid hormones
• vitamin D
• essential components of cell membranes

This doesn’t mean statins are “bad” —
they have proven benefits in reducing cardiovascular risk in specific groups.

But it does mean one thing:

👉 The cholesterol story is much deeper than simply “lower the number.”



And this is where it gets really interesting

High cholesterol is not always just about food.
In many cases, it reflects deeper imbalances in the body:
