Are you feeling it? Is your team?

Between the headlines, busy schedules, and everything life throws our way, you might be feeling the weight a little more this week. Maybe there’s still some hockey heartbreak hanging around too.

Get down on the floor with us today. While Canadians across the country are completing 2,000 push-ups over 23 days, right here in Calgary thousands of people are pushing for better mental health in our workplaces, schools, and neighbourhoods.

Before work. Between meetings. After long days.
Not for medals. Not for glory. For better mental health in our community.

Every push-up helps spark conversations, build connection, and support local programs that help people learn, cope, and stay well, long before a crisis happens.

When you support The Push-Up Challenge through CMHA Calgary, you’re helping expand local mental health education, peer support, and prevention initiatives that reach people across our city.

If you’re able, consider making a personal donation and help turn this collective effort into lasting impact here at home.

If your employer offers matching gifts, you can double your impact.

Together, we’re working toward a Calgary where mental health is treated as essential, not optional and where everyone has the support they need to thrive.

Today’s push-up goal is 160, highlighting the 16% boost in life satisfaction young adults experience when they have at least one close relationship.

Strong relationships are a powerful protective factor for mental health and they’re skills we can build.

That’s why we’re excited to share our NEW free course, Healthy Relationships 101, now live on EQUIPPED. It helps youth explore communication, boundaries, and what healthy connection looks like in everyday life.

We’re grateful to donors, funders, and partners who make EQUIPPED possible, with special thanks to RBC Foundation for funding this module and to Fear is Not Love for their collaboration and support.

53 push-ups today.

More than half of young adults say they feel better emotionally and mentally when they spend less time on social media. It’s a good reminder that stepping away from the scroll can create space to reset.

Maybe today looks like putting your phone down a little earlier, going for a walk, focusing on something that brings you energy, or simply being present with the people around you.

The Push-Up Challenge is not just about reps. It’s about building habits that support mental health in everyday ways.

If this challenge has meant something to you, consider sharing your page or making a donation to support local mental health programs and services.

What’s one thing you’ll do today to unplug?

What does mental strength look like beyond the spotlight?

For Calgary’s Rod Garossino — who competed at the 1988 Winter Olympics alongside his sister Karyn — it means showing up for community, sharing what he’s learned about resilience, and supporting mental wellness for others.

Through the 2026 Push-Up Challenge, people across our city are coming together to raise awareness, spark conversations, and support CMHA Calgary’s local mental health programs — because caring for our mental health is something we all do together.

Stories like Rod’s remind us that the pressures we face, whether in sport or everyday life, are easier to navigate when we have the right supports and community around us.

Join the movement. Push for better.

Today’s push-up target is 70.

A reminder that many people living with mental health conditions feel media coverage can contribute to stigma and misunderstanding. Changing that starts with how we talk, listen, and show up for one another.

As you take on today’s reps, consider sharing a message of support, speaking openly about mental health, or amplifying stories that promote understanding and compassion.

Through The Push-Up Challenge, you are helping CMHA Calgary continue important work to reduce stigma, increase awareness, and ensure people feel seen, heard, and supported.

You can also support this work by sharing your fundraising page or making a donation. Every gift helps strengthen mental health programs across our community.

Together, we can push for understanding and change.

Today’s push-up target is 143.

Getting 7 to 9 hours of sleep each night can make a real difference for your mental health. Research shows people who get enough rest are less likely to experience poor mental wellbeing.

As you take on today’s reps, consider what rest looks like for you. Maybe it’s winding down earlier, stepping away from screens, or creating a small routine that helps you recharge.

Looking after our mental health includes giving ourselves permission to rest.

You can also support the movement by sharing your fundraising page or making a donation. Every gift helps CMHA Calgary provide programs, resources, and support to people across our community.

Let’s keep pushing and prioritizing rest.
