The past few weeks have been full of community connection! From holiday markets to workplace pop-ups, we’ve loved being out and about sharing conversations, making new connections, and helping people learn about the supports available to them.

We’re grateful to the City of Calgary and the Government of Canada for their generous support of YouthSMART and its work with young people, parents, and caregivers across our community with the Building Safer Communities grant.

Through this support, YouthSMART helped normalize conversations about mental health and wellbeing, reduce stigma, and empower youth and families to seek help before concerns escalated into crisis.

By building these foundational skills early, YouthSMART supported youth in developing resilience, confidence, and compassion, for themselves and for others, while strengthening protective factors within families and communities. This early intervention approach contributed to safer schools, stronger peer connections, and healthier communities overall.

🎉 Exciting news for YouthSMART! 🎉

CMHA Calgary is honoured to receive $20,000 from the TELUS Calgary and Southern Alberta Community Board to support a major digital expansion of YouthSMART.ca.

With more youth turning to online spaces for mental health information, this funding will help us transform YouthSMART.ca into a more accessible, engaging and youth-centered hub for mental health education and support.

What is coming in 2026:
✨ A refreshed, mobile-friendly redesign
✨ Interactive content and wellness tools
✨ A new Peer Q and A space
✨ Inspiring youth stories and recovery spotlights
✨ An improved resource hub with clear “help now” pathways
✨ Strengthened digital reach through integrated social media

This investment helps us meet youth where they are and ensures trusted mental health resources are easier to find and navigate. We are grateful for the support of and the TELUS Calgary and Southern Alberta Community Board, who make this important work possible.
