Devoted Doula Birth & Breastfeeding Services Devoted Doula Birth & Breastfeeding Services provides individualized Birth Doula and Breastfeeding C I have always had a passion for caring for others.

Originally from Saskatchewan, my husband and I moved to Calgary in 2006. After the birth of my daughter, my eyes were opened to the wonder that is motherhood. Two more daughters followed her, and our household was complete. It was shortly after the birth of our youngest that a close friend asked me to be at her side during her upcoming birth. I was thrilled and very excited. It was a moment that is etched in my mind and on my heart forever. Over the years I have been invited into the homes of many to help them transition into parenthood and to expand their families. I have been able to utilize my vast experience and education to help others during an intimate and emotional time. I feel honoured that clients can lean on me to help them through this time in their lives. It is my belief that birth and breastfeeding are normal physiological processes that are better experienced with additional support. To me birth is a life changing moment. As the only International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) in Calgary who is also Certified as a Birth and Postpartum Doula, I am able to provide you with warm, compassionate, professional care. I also administrate the Facebook Group “Calgary Breastfeeding Support”. Many of the support and services I provide may be reimbursed through your extended health plans. I offer evidence-based information to the families I work with in the Calgary area while providing physical, emotional and educational support.

**Announcement** After 7.5 years as your Devoted Doula, I've begun to transition into Lactation Consulting Only Support. I will continue to provide Birth Doula services to repeat clients only so if that is you, don't hesitate to reach out! With this transition, I am also beginning to operate under the name Calgary Breastfeeding Centre. There I will be able to offer 50 Hours of Lactation Specific Education to Health Care Providers, Breastfeeding Supporters and Families. I will continue to provide Lactation Consultation support both in-clinic (South Calgary Midwives) and in-home. To all the families I have had the joy of supporting over the years, thank you! Oral Mechanics is a complex and developing field. I take time to investigate all aspects of each unique dyad I work with. From assessing oral restrictions and how they interplay with suck/swallow/breathe coordination and milk production. We take the time to develop individualized plans to navigate complex feeding situations. IBCLCs aren't reserved only for the complex and challenging situations either. We are able to assess and confirm efficiency and to plan for developmental leaps and adjustments to common situations as the year progresses!

Who is your Devoted Doula?

I began Devoted Doula Birth Services when I discovered my passion for serving others during pregnancy and the postpartum period. Close friends asked for me to help them transition to parenthood and I was thrilled to make myself available. I wanted to ensure that the support I provided them was the best it could possibly be. I achieved credentials as a Certified Birth Doula, Breastfeeding Counselor and Lactation Educator. I am continually striving to further my skills and am proud to provide evidence-based services to the families I work with.

I am devoted to ensuring that your journey is as smooth as possible and would be honoured to discuss with you how I can be involved.
