January and February Events through Sundancer Psychological Services:
Grief and Loss Group: The experience of significant loss and grief of someone in our life, whether it be personal or professional, can be difficult for therapists and caregivers to navigate. With the business of the holiday season, we can fine it interfering with our ability to be the best we can with clients and other relationship. Joanne has started offering monthly grief groups for psychologists and other caregiving professionals.
The next group is Thursday January 22nd: 5:30 – 7:30 pm; 1212 1st SE, Calgary. This is an open in person group for psychologists, other therapists and professional caregivers. Joanne uses the “Seasons of Grief” (J. Miller) as her healing model in the grief groups, believing that as we move through the various seasons, we find understanding of our loss and develop resiliency.
“Pieces” Sharing Circle: for therapists, teachers, nurses and other professional caregivers, to provide an opportunity to 'share' what's happening in our lives. In our roles, we give support others daily often having little opportunity to share our feelings, struggles, success and challenges. Modeled after Indigenous Talking Circles and the creativity, harmony, and community found in joining pieces in quilt making. “Pieces” Sharing Circles are offered each month, virtually and in person.
