As January comes to a close, you may be reflecting back on goals that you set for yourself. Depending how it went, you may be feeling crestfallen for not acting on your resolutions as much as you wanted to.

The important piece now is not to let an obstacle stop your effort to continue trying. We constantly fall down; we just have to get back up again. If you have been putting off an important goal or area of self-improvement, know that it is not to late to restart the push. And even if you don't have a goal in the works, there isn't a wrong time to get started!

Every time you do something that feels good right now such as: scroll social media, eat a treat, binge watch a show, your brain releases dopamine, the “feel-good” chemical. Over time, your brain starts prioritizing short-term pleasure over long-term goals, making habits like exercising, studying, or working on projects feel… hard.

The good news? Understanding this dopamine loop is the first step to working with your brain, not against it. Small tweaks in how you structure rewards can make consistency much easier.

We’ve even created a resource to help you hack your brain for consistency, click the link in our bio to check it out!

Committing to something new is not easy, and the hardest part is often getting started. You will likely never feel ready to take the plunge out of your comfort zone, but that is where growth happens. The key is to take the first step - even if you just spend five minutes and face your fear, it will make all the difference!

January is the perfect time to think about new beginnings! As we welcome 2026, we reflect on the past year. This may bring a renewed commitment to habits, motivation to overcome past challenges, or curiosity to explore outside of our comfort zone.

Whatever new beginnings this year holds for you, we look forward to exploring them together!

The people that matter don't care, and the people that care don't matter.

We are not perfect and never will be. We will have bad days where we need to try again. And the ones who love us will be there to support us through the worst of it, until we get back to where we want to be.
