Blurry vision is common… but it’s not always harmless.
Sometimes, it’s your eyes’ way of telling you something serious is wrong.

Common Causes of Blurry Vision
▪︎ Refractive errors (need for glasses)
▪︎ Myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism
▪︎ Dry eyes – Especially with screen use
▪︎ Cataract – Clouding of the lens

Serious Causes You Should NOT Ignore
1. Glaucoma
– Can cause permanent vision loss
2. Diabetic eye disease
– Damage to the retina from diabetes
3. Retinal detachment
– May present with flashes, floaters, shadow/curtain
4. Stroke or nerve problems
– Sudden vision changes

Common (Less Serious) Causes
▪︎Allergy
▪︎Dry eyes
▪︎Mild irritation (dust, smoke, screen use)
These usually improve with simple care.

When You SHOULD Worry
Seek immediate eye care if red eyes come with:
❗ Pain (especially severe)
❗ Blurred or reduced vision
❗ Light sensitivity
❗ Discharge (especially thick or yellow)
❗ Injury to the eye
❗ Contact lens use with discomfort
