Dental cavities affect millions more people globally than cold infections. Untreated dental caries in permanent teeth are the most common health condition in the world, impacting an estimated 2.5 billion people. In comparison, while colds are frequent, the total number of people living with untreated cavities at any given time far exceeds those experiencing a cold.
Unlike the common cold, dental caries is a chronic condition that can persist for life if untreated — making oral health care essential for everyone!
