Here are some activities you can do with your toddler that are fun and also promote Visual Development! You’ll notice they are likely things you already do, or easy ideas to try out!

1- Swings - the in and out movement promotes adjusting focus along the z axis - this means your toddler has to keep their eyes aligned and constantly changing focus at different distances. Extra tip - push your kids from the front, instead of the back - engaging with you means extra practice changing focus as they move closer and further away from you smoothly.

2 - Balance bikes - Balance bikes promote bilateral and cross body movements throughout the entire body. This coordination is important for gross motor development and also helps the eyes to gain bilateral control as well! Bilateral full body movement help promote binocular, or eye teaming abilities too!

3 - Popping bubbles - this involves so many different eye movements - following the bubbles means tracking a moving object, reaching out to pop them involves hand eye coordination and depth perception, and kids just love it!

✨ Meet Diana — a refined, modern take on the semi-rimless frame. ✨
This angular women’s style is available in four versatile colours, but we especially love it in BXBK: Bordeaux & Black — a stunning combination that’s both bold and timeless.
🍷 The front of the frame features a rich, deep red wine tone that continues subtly through the nylon lens line, creating a delicate outline that elevates the entire look.
🖤 The temples add contrast and sophistication with a high-shine black-and-white marble acetate — sleek, polished, and effortlessly chic.
Diana is one of those frames that feels just as good as it looks. Come by, ask our team about it, and see how it looks on you. 👓✨

🧘‍♂️ Breathe Easy During Your Eye Exam 👁️✨

Did you know that the way you breathe can affect your intraocular pressure (IOP) measurement?

When you're tense or holding your breath, your chest and shoulders rise—this can temporarily raise your IOP and lead to inaccurate results. That's why calm, steady breathing is so important during an eye pressure test, especially with a non-contact tonometer (the one that gently blows air onto your eye).

Why calm breathing matters:

✔️ More accurate readings – No false spikes in pressure
✔️ Fewer artifacts – Relaxed muscles = reliable measurements
✔️ Better monitoring – Especially important if you’re being checked for glaucoma or other eye conditions

What to do during the test:

🧘 Relax your shoulders and breathe normally
🪑 Sit comfortably, with your head in the right position
💡 Trust the process – the test is quick, painless, and non-invasive

Your calm breath helps us take better care of your eyes! 💙
