What is Cytoreductive Surgery and HIPEC?

This treatment combines two powerful approaches designed for certain peritoneal, digestive, and ovarian cancers.
• Step 1 – Cytoreductive Surgery
Surgeons remove visible tumor lesions from the abdominal cavity.
• Step 2 – HIPEC (Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy)
Heated chemotherapy is circulated directly within the abdomen for approximately 90 minutes.

Why heated chemotherapy?
