🌟 New on Queen Street: a lounge-style boutique where confidence, comfort, and community come first.

Tony sat down with Holly at Chic Key Lounge & Boutique — opened November 1 — to talk about her vision for a welcoming space where you can touch/try products, ask questions, and find pieces that feel right for you (including plus sizes up to 4XL).  

You’ll find bath & body care, cozy pajamas, and lingerie — and for those interested, she hosts private 18+ parties with the sensitive items kept “behind the key” and available online or through a private event. Hosts even earn cash back (20%, rising to 35% in Jan/Feb).   

Holly’s also planning a Saturday night social “book club” in January and offers themed birthday parties where the shop transforms into a celebration space — all about connection, conversation, and fun.

Happy Friday!! I’m excited that some great reading material is hitting mailboxes this weekend.

This month’s edition features two people who are doing great things in the region and some great articles about the , an article about retirement living from Heritage Meadows, an article about the Hespeler Shamrocks minor hockey teams, and a commercial article from me about how to help businesses get found online.

For those who don’t get the magazine: No worries! I dropped extras off at Bishop’s Brew, Cypriannas Pizzeria, a copy for circulation at Cambridge Public Library, Hespeler and I should drop some off at the Hespeler Heritage Centre next week. Also, I can direct you to the online editions if you prefer that - just DM me.

Something I’ve found deeply meaningful over the past few years is the ceremony in downtown . Standing there this morning, thinking about those who never came home — sons, brothers, husbands, neighbours — it hit me again how much was lost, and how many families carried on with a hole that never fully closed.

I’m reading A Farewell to Arms right now, and it’s been echoing some of what I feel on days like this: the heaviness, the cost, and the human side of sacrifice. War isn’t romantic. It’s hard, it’s tragic, and it changes everyone it touches.

But remembering isn’t just about sadness — it’s about gratitude and responsibility. We get to live in a country where we can talk, disagree, build, and keep trying to make things better. That didn’t happen by accident.

Lots of emotions today, as always, but mostly gratitude. I hope you found a moment today to pause, reflect, and honour those who served and those who never came home.

👻 "Ghost: The Musical" has been lighting up the Cambridge Arts Theatre — and while the first week of its two-week run has already finished, there’s still time to catch it before it closes on October 25!

We actually featured this production in our latest issue of Neighbours of Hespeler Village, but unfortunately, delivery delays meant the magazine only reached mailboxes halfway through the run.

Super excited to hear that the magazines are being delivered finally. The depot received their shipment and I’ve been informed that TODAY was the first day of delivery - so it should be all mailed by next week. It is a great issue and I hope you enjoy it.

ALSO, there was an article on Page 8 about “Ghost: The Musical” that began last weekend and is also playing THIS weekend in downtown Galt. Re: the Canada Post strike - I have friends on both sides of the picket line whom I love and respect. I hope that an agreement can be reached that makes sense for both sides and also the Canadian public.
