Merry Christmas from Corbett and Lounsbury Funeral Homes.

This photo, taken at our annual “casual dress only” Christmas party, includes our staff (with a few missing) and some special friends who are part of our extended family. We are mindful that Christmas can be a difficult season for many, and our hope is that we all find comfort in drawing close to family, friends, and those who matter most. Corbett Funeral Home Christmas Tree of Hope

Once again this year, Corbett Funeral Home has placed a Christmas tree in our lobby as a symbol of hope, comfort, and encouragement. We understand that the Christmas season can be especially difficult for those who are missing loved ones, and our tree stands as a gentle reminder that you are not alone during this time.

In the spirit of giving, our tree also serves a second purpose. We invite anyone who is able to leave a canned good or non-perishable item beneath the tree. All items collected will be donated to our local Food Bank to support individuals and families in our community.

This Remembrance Day photo is especially meaningful to me. The bag you see belonged to my father, and it stayed by his side every day for three and a half years during the Second World War as he served in England and fought in France, Belgium, and Holland. If it could speak, the stories it would tell are beyond imagination.

Today, we honour my father and all the brave men and women who fought for the freedom we are so fortunate to enjoy. We remember their courage, their sacrifice, and their lasting legacy.

We extend our heart felt wishes on this day to all mothers, those who are still with us and those who have gone before us.

Recent concerns over potentially harmful tariffs affecting Canadian products and jobs have caused many of us to revisit our personal commitment to support Canadian businesses.

At Corbett Funeral Home and Lounsbury Funeral Home, it has long been our practice to source Canadian products to the greatest extent possible, from trusted suppliers such as Victoriaville, a highly respected manufacturer of caskets based in Quebec. We remain committed to ensuring that the families we serve are offered a choice of high quality products that support jobs and businesses here at home.

I am also immensely proud that Corbett and Lounsbury Funeral Homes continue to be the only locally and Canadian owned funeral homes in Cambridge.

There are typically more than 80 questions and decisions to be made by a family when a loved one passes. We are hopeful that among your first questions is: Who owns this funeral home?

Had a wonderful time this past Saturday at our annual Christmas party with our staff from both Corbett and Lounsbury Funeral Homes. There are only two rules- Have fun and casual dress only! So proud of these dedicated servant hearts that make working with them such an honour and privilege. Wishing everyone a blessed Christmas.
