Our team is participating in the Voices Empower: Walk to Break the Silence hosted by Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region this Saturday November 22nd 💙

Why We Walk: Every 6 days in Canada, a woman is killed by her intimate partner.

In 2024, there were 187 femicides in Canada - including 62 in Ontario, according to the Ontario Association of Interval and Transition Houses.

Escalated violence is preventable with the right support.

We must continue raising awareness and funds to prevent these tragedies from happening.

Back in May, Cambridge Eye Care partnered with Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region to help support women and children in our community. Thanks to your incredible generosity, we’re proud to share that we raised $1,552.55 through donations and a portion of our eyewear sales.

These funds help provide vital services including:

💠 Youth education programs
💠 Safe shelter and more

👁💙 World Sight Day is all about recognizing the importance of eye care and access to vision around the world. At Cambridge Eye Care, we’re proud to support Optometry Giving Sight, an organization that helps bring eye exams and glasses to people in need worldwide.

👓✨ Dr. Wood and Dr. Lennox just returned from another ICEE Program (Indigenous Children Eye Examination) outreach clinic!

This trip they visited Kashechewan First Nation and Attawapiskat First Nation, helping provide eye exams and care for about 70 children.

ICEE is dedicated to ensuring Indigenous children in remote communities don’t miss out on vital vision care: on-site clinics, telemedicine follow-ups, training of local health workers, and free corrective lenses.

Seeing clearly isn’t a luxury — it’s essential for learning, growth, and confidence. Thanks to everyone involved for making this outreach possible.
