This month we saw more boys than girls, our average sized pumpkin was 7lbs 8oz and our busiest midwife was Emily D!

✨September is really the baby boom month! ✨
We welcomed 41 new little ones this September, making it our busiest month of the year!
Statistically September is the busiest month for births (hello to everyone feeling the love over the winter holidays 😉) and boys have clearly taken the lead this year! 👶

Today is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Every year on September 30 we pause to remember and reflect on the innocent children lost, the survivors of the residential school system and the families who were forever changed.

Why wear an orange shirt? Orange is the colour of the shirt that was taken from 6 year old Phyllis Newstad on her first day of residential school. Now to honour the children who survived residential schools and remember those who did not, many Canadians across the country wear an orange shirt.

Cambridge Midwives stands with our Indigenous community, and support the survivors of the residential school system.

There has been lots of talk recently about the use of Tylenol (aka Acetaminophen) in pregnancy.
The conclusion? Tylenol use in pregnancy is safe and recommended in pregnancy for pain and fever. Swipe to learn more.

And with that, August is complete. Fall here we come 🍂
This month we had more C-sections than average, but this also included 5 elective C-sections.
Our smallest baby was 3lbs 6oz and our biggest was 9lbs 2oz!

Lets see what September will bring, it’s already off to a strong start!
