For those of you who feel like 50 minutes is just the warm-up - this one is for you. We’ve received so many requests to bring this format back, and we are thrilled to offer a special, one-off Marathon Hybrid Ride with Sarah on Sunday, February 8th at 12pm.

This extended session is the ultimate test of endurance. We are blending the metric-based intensity of a Power Ride with the soul-stirring energy and choreography of Rhythm.

The Vibe:

Expect a focus on sustained effort and heavy climbs where you’ll track your RPM and power, seamlessly integrated with rhythm-based movements like pumps and dips. Whether you’re training for a literal marathon or just looking to see what you’re capable of when you settle into the work, this is where you find your edge and stay there.

Is this a one-time thing?

As of now, this is a special one-off offering. However, we are watching the demand closely! If the room is packed and the energy is high, it may just find a more regular home on our schedule. Consider this your chance to “vote” for the Marathon Hybrid with your presence!

If you’ve been looking for a way to feel more capable in your everyday life, our Strength Training sessions are the place to start.

At Session, we focus on slow, deliberate, and controlled movements. We prioritize reps over time, ensuring you have the space to refine your form and truly connect with the muscles you’re working.

The “Why” Behind the Work:

We don’t just lift to get stronger today; we lift to stay strong for decades to come.

• Muscle as Longevity: Strength training utilizes progressive overload to help maintain and build lean muscle mass. This is one of the single most important things we can do as we age, especially for women nearing or moving through perimenopause and menopause to support bone density and hormonal health.

• Functional Resilience: This isn’t just about gym stats - it’s about the strength to move through your daily life with ease and without injury. From carrying all the groceries in one trip to picking up your kids (or grandkids) without a second thought, we train for life outside the studio.

• Metabolism & Composition: Building muscle is the most effective way to change your body composition. Because muscle is more metabolically active than fat, increasing your muscle density helps boost your resting metabolism - meaning your body burns more energy even when you’re not working out.

How it Works:

📣 Waitlist Refresh: Better, Faster, and Fairer! 📣

We love seeing so many of you eager to get into class! To make sure every spot is used to its fullest potential and to give you more control over your schedule, we’ve updated our waitlist system in Momence.
Here is everything you need to know about how to navigate the waitlist like a pro:

1. The 90-Minute Rule (Automatic Promotion)

When you add your name to a waitlist, it is a commitment to attend. You will be automatically promoted into the class up to 90 minutes before the start time if a spot opens up.

• Your Responsibility: Once promoted, the spot is yours! Please check your status regularly, especially before bed if you are waitlisted for a morning class. If you find yourself promoted, we can’t wait to see you there!

2. NEW: “Fastest Fingers” (Within 90 Minutes)

We’ve heard you—no one likes being “surprised” by a promotion right before class starts. Now, if a spot opens up within 90 minutes of class time:

• The Text: Everyone on the waitlist will receive a text notification. 📱

• The Claim: The first person to respond and confirm will get the spot!

• The Benefit: This keeps the waitlist moving right up until the last second without forcing a booking on someone who can no longer make it.

3. The Golden Rule: If in doubt, opt out.

If your plans change and you can no longer attend, please remove yourself from the waitlist immediately. This opens the opportunity for someone else and ensures you don’t get promoted into a spot you can’t use.

4. Reminder: The Cancellation Window

To keep things fair for our instructors and our community, our 8-hour cancellation policy applies to all promoted spots. Ensure any changes are made at least 8 hours before class to avoid late cancellation fees.

A Love Letter to Your Sore Muscles... ✨

To everyone who stepped back into our studios this week after weeks, months, or even years away: We see you, and we are so proud of you.

If you’re currently wincing a little when you sit down or feeling that “good sore” in muscles you forgot you had - take a second to reframe that feeling. That soreness is a physical reminder of what your body is capable of. It is a privilege to be able to move, to sweat, and to challenge ourselves in this way. Your body is waking up!

But here is the secret to keeping that momentum going: you don’t have to go 100% every single day. If you’re just starting or returning, give yourself permission to aim for 80% for these first few weeks. Whether you’re on the bike, the mat, or at the barre, you don’t have to hit your absolute max to have a successful workout. Easing in is the smartest way to ensure you stay consistent for the long haul.

Tips for the “Day-After” Ache:

💧 Hydrate: Then hydrate some more. Your muscles need water to repair and flush out the hard work.

🚶‍♀️ Keep it Moving: It might feel counterintuitive, but light movement is actually one of the best ways to heal sore muscles. Getting your blood flowing with a gentle walk or a Yin + Recovery session helps “flush” the muscles and reduces stiffness much faster than total rest.

🛁 Recover: Epsom salt baths and an extra hour of sleep are your best friends right now. 

Listen to your body, celebrate the work you’ve already done, and let’s carry this energy right into the new week.

We are so excited to announce that Tarryn is returning to a weekly spot on the schedule! Tarryn has been with Session since we first opened our doors, and while she’s been subbing for us lately, we are thrilled to have her back in a regular rotation starting Saturday, January 17th.

Have you ever wondered why that one spot in your back stays tight, or why your hips feel “stuck” no matter how much you stretch? It’s time to look deeper than the muscle and meet your fascia.

We are incredibly excited to announce a special 3-part workshop series led by the wonderful Lorna Seldon Burd. Lorna brings nearly 20 years of yoga and movement expertise to the mat and recently completed her specialized Roll Model® Method training, specializing in myofascial release.

In this series, Lorna will guide you through the anatomy of your body’s connective tissue lines. You won’t just feel the relief in class—you’ll learn the techniques to apply these principles at home for lifelong mobility and tension relief.

The Roadmap to Release:

✨ Jan 24 | Part 1: The Front Line
Focus: Chest, Quadriceps, Shins + Neck
Open the front of the body to counteract the physical effects of sitting and daily stress. We will focus on releasing the quadriceps, shins, and chest, finishing with targeted work to relieve tension in the neck.

✨ Feb 7 | Part 2: The Back Line
Focus: Feet, Hamstrings, Glutes, Back + Neck
Discover the connection between the soles of your feet and the top of your head. This session targets the posterior chain—including the feet, calves, hamstrings, and glutes—to help alleviate lower back tightness and neck tension.

✨ Feb 21 | Part 3: The Side + Spiral Lines
Focus: IT Band, Hips, Obliques + Shoulders
Address the complex lines that manage rotation and lateral movement. We will focus on the IT bands, lateral hips, obliques, and the stabilizers of the shoulders to improve range of motion and fluidity.

Hello, 2026! We're so excited to step into this new year with you!

Forget the pressure of harsh resolutions. This year is about intention. It’s about a fresh start, being kind to your body, and showing up for yourself consistently - every moment counts!

We’ve loved having you keep up the momentum through the holidays, and we're ready to embrace the renewed energy that January brings.

✨ New Year, New Movement: Meet Roll + Release! ✨

As we head into 2026, we’re all about adding more tools to your self-care toolkit. We are so excited to introduce a brand-new specialized offering to our schedule: Roll + Release with Lorna!

While we still love the deep stillness of our classic Yin + Recovery sessions, Roll + Release takes things a step further by incorporating targeted myofascial release. We even have a fresh set of specialized therapy balls arriving just in time for the launch!

What is Roll + Release? 🎾

Think of this as a "manual tune-up" for your body. Led by Lorna, this class uses specialized balls and Yin-inspired poses to apply gentle pressure to the body’s connective tissue (fascia). It’s designed to dissolve deep-seated tension in high-stress areas like the hips, back, and shoulders.

Why you’ll love adding this to your routine:

• Restore: Helps your body shift into a truly balanced, grounded state.

• Recover: Supports faster muscle repair—the perfect teammate for your Spin and Pilates classes!

• Release: An incredible tool for athletes or anyone feeling the physical "tightness" of daily life.

You’ll leave the studio feeling more fluid, spacious, and completely restored.

You can find us in the heart of downtown Campbell River BC.

Our collective of experienced teachers hold powerful space and teach from their hearts. You can find a variety of classes such as hatha, vinyasa flow, prenatal, mom and baby, kundalini, nada, restorative, yin, nidra, meditation.
