A safe place for all

Since 1993 the Beacon Club has provided a safe, non-judgmental environment for adults with mental illnesses to work on their recovery and re-integrate into the community. We offer a variety of activities including meals, workshops, physical fitness, art, music and outings.

Weekly activities include Mindfulness, Effective Communication and Jam Session. Bingo is held once each month. We celebrate all the holidays with parties and/or special dinners. We also go on one or two outings each month, either to an event/activity within Campbell River or sometimes to another island community. Examples include bowling, horseback riding, concerts, beach days, shopping, Christmas light tours, museums, aquariums, garden tours, Parksville Sand Sculpture Competition and animal sanctuaries. There are also shuffleboard/pool/crib/Wii/board game tourneys twice/month. We have an annual Funky PJ Party and several Spa Days throughout the year. The members enjoy watching sports and movies on the big screen in the living room together, as well as watching You Tube videos or connecting with family and friends via social media on one of two computers available to them. /
