Today, on the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women, we reflect on the 14 women whose lives were senselessly taken during the École Polytechnique tragedy in 1989. We honour their memory, and the countless others affected by gender-based violence, by reaffirming our commitment to fostering safety, respect, and a future free from violence against women.

Psychosis often begins gradually, and early indicators can be easy to overlook. If you’re noticing changes in yourself or someone close to you, pay attention to:

1️⃣ Friends or family expressing concern
2️⃣ Feeling detached or like things seem “unreal”
3️⃣ Major changes in energy, sleep, or motivation
4️⃣ Withdrawing from people or activities you once enjoyed

You’re not alone, and you don’t have to wait until things get worse. CMH’s EPI Program is here to support young people and families with early, compassionate care.

Today, our Board of Directors was joined by the Foundation Board, our Redevelopment Committee, members of the CMH Auxiliary, and the Hospital’s Executive Team for an important discussion about the detailed planning work that will guide the next phase of our new hospital build.

As we move forward, we’ll soon begin the detailed work of:

➡️ Confirming future clinical service needs based on community demographics
➡️ Engaging staff, physicians, partners, and the public to define space and program requirements
➡️ Beginning early site planning, including access, infrastructure servicing, and layout considerations
➡️ Refining cost estimates

Stay tuned for details about upcoming community engagement sessions and more ways to get involved and have your voice heard.

Happy Physician Assistant Day! 🎉🙌

Today we’re celebrating our wonderful PAs, Sarah, a seasoned CMH pro, and Shanna, who joined our team not long ago. Their skill, compassion, and calm, reliable presence bring so much to our patients and to everyone who works alongside them. 💙

Thank you both for everything you do to keep things running smoothly and for always bringing your best. You’re an essential part of what makes CMH such a special place! 👏

Our latest Champions of Care Recipient. The Campbellford Memorial Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce it has received Champions of Care acknowledgement in honour of RN Jillian Wybrow. Here is what the donor had to say, “I had a good stay with great care at CMH a week ago. Was there for two days on the 1st Floor. Jillian was very kind." Congratulations, Jillian!

On November 11th, we pause to remember.

Campbellford Memorial Hospital was built as a living memorial to honour local soldiers who gave their lives in the Second World War. Their names and stories are part of our foundation, and the community we continue to serve.

As we mark Remembrance Day, we reflect on their courage, their sacrifice, and the responsibility we carry to honour their memory. Lest we forget. 🌺

Recently, our VP of Patient Care Heather Campbell attended the AGE-WELL Annual Conference in Montréal, an event that brings together leaders in aging and technology from across Canada and around the world. The conference focuses on how innovation can support independence, quality of life, and better care for older adults.

Heather was invited to speak about CMH’s Rural Stop Gap Program, highlighting the creative ways we’re using technology to expand access to care for patients in our community. It was a great opportunity to share the work happening at CMH, learn from other health system innovators, and help shape how technology can support care in smaller hospitals.

We’re proud to have CMH represented in the conversations shaping the future of rural health care.
