💙 Giving Back to Our Community 💙

All year long, our residents have been collecting and selling their bottles, saving every bit with one goal in mind: to help children in our community stay warm during the winter months. ❄️🧥

Thanks to their hard work, generosity, and big hearts, we were able to provide winter jackets for 7 children this year. We proudly donated the jackets to the Community Mental Health team, who made sure they reached the families who needed them most. ☺️👏

Tout au long de l’année, nos résidents ont ramassé et vendu leurs bouteilles, en gardant chaque dollar avec un seul objectif : aider les enfants de notre communauté à rester au chaud durant l’hiver. ❄️🧥

Grâce à leur travail, leur générosité et leur grand cœur, nous avons pu offrir des manteaux d’hiver à 7 enfants cette année. Nous avons fièrement remis les manteaux à l’équipe de Santé mentale communautaire, qui s’est assurée qu’ils soient distribués aux familles dans le besoin. 😊👏

✨Redécouvrir ses passions, c'est aussi prendre soin de soi.✨

Une partie de notre travail au foyer est d'encourager nos résidents à se découvrir de nouvelles passions... ou à retrouver celles qu'ils avaient mises de côté.

Nous sommes fiers de partager l'histoire de Richard qui a récemment repris le dessin, une activité qu'il avait abandonnée à une période plus difficile de sa vie. Après avoir travaillé fort sur sa santé mentale et sur lui-même, il a retrouvé le goût de créer.

Aujourd'hui, il dit que le dessin est devenu thérapeutique pour lui — et ça se voit dans son sourire et dans ses œuvres. ☺️

Part of our work is to encourage our residents to discover new passions — or to reconnect with old ones they had set aside.

We're proud to share the story of Richard who recently started drawing again, an activity he had stopped during a more difficult time in his life. After working hard on his mental health and personal growth, he found joy in creating once more.

Today, he says drawing has become therapeutic for him — and you can see it in his smile and his artwork. 💛

✨Appreciation post ahead✨

Today, our team responded to a medical emergency on the street and immediately stepped in to help someone in serious need. Both staff and residents didn’t hesitate for even a second to assist while waiting for paramedics to arrive.

Just yesterday, I witnessed our whole community come together — praying, sharing posts on Facebook, and helping search for one of our own who had wandered a little too far from home.

I want to take this moment to thank my amazing staff for the work they do. It’s not always easy, but day after day they show up with care, compassion, and dedication to the residents in our home. They truly go above and beyond, and we really are one big family.

I also want to remind everyone how much a small gesture can mean. Sometimes the simplest act can make a world of difference in someone else’s life. At the end of the day, we must remember that we are all human, after all. ❤️

We are so sorry to hear about Wayne’s passing. We were so lucky to have had him with us at the home a few years back and we’ll always remember the special moments and laughs we shared. He will be missed dearly🩵
