It is with deep sorrow and heartfelt love that we announce the passing of Rose De Castro Panti on March 22, 2026, at the age of 73 surrounded by love.

Rose de Castro Panti, born in the Philippines, was the beloved wife of Adolfo Panti, with whom she built a life rooted in love, resilience, and devotion. She was a proud and loving mother to Rochelle, Jaylord, Honey, Love, and Goldey, who were her greatest joy and life’s purpose.

She was also a cherished grandmother to Raen, Chok, Jean Mark, Nini, Pao, Basti, Xander, Gabey, Rjan baby angel and Kikay and she lovingly awaited the arrival of two more grandchildren—twins who will forever carry her love in their hearts. Her grandchildren held a very special place in her life, and she gave them boundless affection, care, and guidance.

Rose’s life was a testament of perseverance and strength. Through hard work and determination, she put herself through school and successfully finished college. Along the way, she met her beloved husband and began building the family she so deeply treasured. In 2002, she bravely migrated to Canada in pursuit of a better future for her loved ones.

She dedicated many years of her life working as a health care aide, a role she carried out with compassion, patience, and genuine care for others. Her selflessness extended beyond her profession—she gave her whole heart to her family, always putting their needs before her own.

Rose found joy in the simple things. She loved gardening, nurturing life with her hands, and enjoyed traveling, creating memories with those she loved most. Her kindness, humility, and quiet strength touched the lives of many. In her own simple ways, she made a lasting impact on everyone she met.

Rose will be remembered for her unwavering love, her generous spirit, and her deep devotion to her family. She will be profoundly missed but forever cherished.

Her love remains with us always.

Rest in peace, Rose. You will never be forgotten.

Russell Norris Jorgenson of Camrose, Alberta, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at the age of 88 years. Russell was born to parents Roy and Karlotte Jorgenson on his family’s homestead outside Kelvington, Saskatchewan, on July 4th, 1937. He was blessed with four older sisters, Clarice, Thelma, Joyce, and Evelyn, and a younger brother, Calvin. Russell loved life on the farm.

He married Valerie, and together they started their life in Kelvington, Saskatchewan. In 1970, they embarked on a journey up the Alaska highway with their four children to Fort Nelson, BC. They later welcomed their fifth child, who completed their “five little peppers”.

Throughout Russell’s time in the north, he worked as a mechanic, owned a service station with his brother-in-law, Syd, and ultimately ended his career as the Northern Area Foreman for West Coast Pipelines. Outside of his work life, Russell was an avid gardener with a green thumb and a genuine, all-around handyman who could fix and build anything. He loved the sun, which he chased down all the way to Arizona for fourteen winters. Russell and Valerie travelled to Ireland twice and even as far as Australia. He also enjoyed skiing, snowmobiling, and golfing. He loved spending weekends camping, embracing the great outdoors and creating lasting memories around the campfire, where he often entertained us with his soulful renditions of old country songs. Russell could also often be heard happily whistling away while he puttered around at home or in his garden. Russell was a diehard Roughriders and Oilers fan. He enjoyed watching curling and was known to be an armchair skip.

Left to cherish Russell’s memory is his wife Valerie Jorgenson, his son Randy Jorgenson; daughter Rhonda Noonan; daughter Shan Jorgenson-Adam; daughter Cara Benson (John); grandchildren Kendra (Justin), Breanne (Morgan), Rachel (Corey), Courtney (Kyle), Hayden, and Faith Hannah; four great granddaughters, Halle, London, Parker, Kollins. Russell was predeceased by his parents, his brother Raymond, his sister Clarice, his son Troy, his grandson Jonan, his son-in-laws Brian and Jerry, and his daughter-in-law Karen.

A life well lived and deeply loved, Russell Norris Jorgenson leaves behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and unwavering devotion to his family and the Lord. With 88 years of hard work and quiet strength, Russell built a life defined by love, character, and an unshakable commitment to those he held dear. Russell would become whoever you needed him to be, always putting others needs before his own. He was a hero to his children and a best friend to his wife.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Century Meadows Baptist Church in Camrose, Alberta, on Friday, March 27th, 2026, at 11 a.m. If you wish, donations can be made to Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) Society of Canada

Linda “Jan” Marler
Aug. 31,1944 – Feb. 27, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce our sweet, kind and gentle mom, Jan, Gram, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on February 27, 2026, in Lamont at the age of 81.

Jan married David in 1963 and soon after they moved to their farm in Ross Creek where they raised a family and she stayed until 2024. Mom was very active on the farm alongside dad in all aspects of farm life. She stayed home until her kids grew and moved on, then she enjoyed working at the Lodge in Tofield and later the bakery at the IGA. Mom was a gentle soul, beautiful on the inside and out. Her eyes lit up and she had the biggest smile for the friends and family that called or visited.

Jan was an exceptional cook and baker. Dee and Brent always had handmade treats every school day and fondly remember the warm sweets they received when they got off the bus. Our mom loved Christmas and will forever be remembered for her three different kinds of the ‘best’ shortbread that she generously shared with family and friends. She took pride in her yard and garden and her flowers were always beautiful and well cared for. Mom spent several years crocheting and making blankets for her kids, and she was a talented seamstress, often sewing clothes for Brent and Deanne, making jeans and their winter jackets. She loved music and was a talented piano player and singer with a beautiful voice. She sang at weddings and even had her own record.

In 2024, she moved from the farm to Morley Young Manor in Lamont where she was still able to have a small garden on her patio. She enjoyed coffee every morning with other residents and actively participated in floor curling, musical entertainment and shared cherished stories from her years of fun with her fast ball family, curling bonspiels and being a part of the Ross Creek community.

She will forever be remembered by her children, Deanne (Jamie), Brent (Pauline) and her younger sisters Cathie (Dave), Barb and Lois (Doug). She is survived by her grandchildren Ashley (Ricky), Aaron (Sasha), Kayla, Braeden (Emma) and Justin (Maggie). Her great-grandchildren Ethan, Khloe, Beau, Alix, Mia, Ellie, Weston and Charlotte as well as her sister and brothers-in-law, many nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends. Jan is predeceased by her husband David Marler and her mother and father Isobel and Jack Bailey.

Her family would like to thank the staff at the Lamont Hospital for their exceptional kindness and compassion in Mom’s final days and thank you to all the family and friends who have offered condolences and support. It is very appreciated.

A celebration of Jan’s life will take place in the summer as Mom loved the sunny, warm days.

Ervine Kading of Tofield, Alberta, passed away at St. Mary's Hospital in Camrose, Alberta on February 24, 2026, at the age of 83.

Ervine was born in Hanna, Alberta, and grew up on a farm near Scapa, Alberta, where he attended school. Although German was his first language, he adapted quickly to his studies. Growing up on a farm instilled in him a lifelong value for hard work. His career began at a Grain Elevator in Stettler, the same town where he met his wife and lifelong love at the Club Café.

After they married, the couple moved to Belloy, Alberta, where they welcomed their first child. Unfortunately due to health concerns being a Grain Elevator manager wasn’t to be, and they returned to Stettler where his daughter was born. Ervine later found his path working as a yardman for several lumber yards before moving to Tofield, where an opportunity came to own and operate a service station alongside his family. Following his time at the service station, he remained active in the Tofield community, taking on odd jobs and helping anyone who needed it.

In his spare time, Ervine enjoyed fishing, camping, boating, and traveling across Canada, with favorite trips including visits to British Columbia and New Brunswick. He especially loved fishing and having wiener roasts at Dried Meat Lake with his daughter and son-in-law. For Ervine, family trips and holidays were cherished opportunities to connect with friends and relatives.

He is survived by his children, Bradley and Sylvia, their spouses, Ro Ann and Glen, his grandchildren, Evan, Roland, Raven, and Raphael. He was predeceased by his wife, Beverly; his parents, William(Bill) and Katharine; and his brother, Ben.

At his request, no service will be held.

Our Story

Being a family owned, operated, and independent funeral home means our policies and practice are not dictated to us by any corporate office or shareholders. This allows us the freedom to serve our families in the same manner as we would wish to be served. We are grateful for the positive response we have experienced within the communities we serve and our pledge is to continue to provide the service that merits the confidence you place in us.

Our story begins with Marvin who started his career in 1971 at Southside Memorial in Edmonton. He moved to Camrose where he was employed by Arnold Hoveland at Hoveland Funeral Home in Camrose. When the Hoveland Funeral Home was sold Marvin moved back to Tofield where he ran the family farm and also built Tofield Funeral Home.

In 2002 we purchased the Mount Pleasant Funeral Chapel (formerly Hoveland Funeral Home) in Camrose. Marvin’s sons Chad, Tyler and Layne all work at the funeral home.

Marvin was elected by his peers in the funeral profession to the Alberta Funeral Service Regulatory Board. AFSRB regulates educational standards, monitors performance standards, licensing and investigates consumer complaints.
