We are excited to introduce our Indigenous Support Doula, Mimi, to our Otter Family 🦦 🤎

My name is Mimi! I am Anishinabae from Skownan First Nation. I am a mother of two, and through my lived experience and journey through motherhood, it has given me a deep passion for supporting and helping other mothers as they walk their own healing paths.
I enjoy beading, sewing, and creating with my hands. I also enjoy reading, writing and journaling, spending time on the land hiking and picking medicines and on the lakes paddle boarding. These are things that help keep me grounded and connected to culture.
I also practice holistic body work such as reiki, hot stone, and raindrop therapy, which I feel can help bring balance and healing to our mind, body, and spirit.
I am also an Indigenous support doula, or what I like to call a support auntie, walking alongside mothers during pregnancy and postpartum, offering encouragement, care, and support.
I believe every woman deserves compassion, patience, and a safe space to grow, heal, and rediscover her strength. Not only are they rediscovering themselves, but I am also growing and healing alongside them, and it is truly an honour to walk alongside them through their healing journeys.
I am always eager to learn, listen, and support in any way I can. I am grateful for the opportunity to help and walk alongside the women and families in our community.
