We are very happy to introduce Heather Wheating, the new Coordinator for Castlegar Hospice Society! Heather is looking forward to working with the volunteers and board in the meaningful work of supporting others as they are faced with the challenges of grief, dying and death.
Heather has worked in the Social Service field since 1987 covering a spectrum of positions: Victim services; Addictions; Family Violence; FASD; Community Wellness; Community Living and counseling, in front line, supervisory and management positions. She has a Human Service Worker Certificate from Thompson Rivers University and a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies from the University of Waterloo.
On a personal level, Heather has lived mostly in small communities throughout BC, and also living and working 8 years in the Arctic, Tuktoyaktuk and Inuvik specifically. Heather has made her home in Castlegar for 5 years and is loving this small town with a big heart and lots to offer! She is blessed with 5 grown children, 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Swimming, knitting, reading and walking in the woods with her corgi Bobby are passions for Heather, while learning to draw and play guitar are newer interests.

Thank you so much to Super 8 for decorating in their lobby & outside on our behalf this year. So appreciated! The trees are beautiful! Now you can put a tag on the trees in memoriam for someone you have lost. If you wish you can make a donation to Castlegar Hospice at the front desk.

UPDATE for 50/50
Only a few more days remain to purchase your 50/50 tickets in support of Castlegar Hospice. Only $5.00 each. Draw date is Saturday December 16th, 10 a.m. in the in the Hospice office.
Tickets available until Friday December 15th at Common Grounds, Thrums Market and Bubblelees. Last chance will be from 3 to 6 p.m. at Canadian Tire on Friday December 15th. As of today the winner is guaranteed $3400.00 progressive pot. Don't miss out! You can also call Sherry at 250-365-3731 for tickets. Thank you for supporting Castlegar Hospice!💕

Thank you to all the amazing bakers who donated the absolute incredible amount of baking for our bake sale last weekend!!💕
Big thank you as well to our Board who packaged it up so beautifully! Also thankyou to the volunteers that helped with the bake sale!!💕

The amazing Hospice Bake Sale is back with twice as much baking. All ready to put in your freezer for the Holidays. Come see us tomorrow at the Kootenay Columbia Faire at the Castlegar Hospice from 4 -8 on Friday and 10-1 on Saturday!! We are right inside when you come in.
50/50 tickets will also be available for $5.00 each!!
If you would like a filled tray of goodies delivered to you before 4pm tomorrow call Sherry at 250-365-3731.
