Period poverty means being unable to access safe, affordable menstrual products — and it’s a reality for thousands of people across Canada.

For those already living in poverty, period products can become an unreachable expense. Some are forced to use rags, socks, or paper towels — risking infection, missing school or work, and facing shame.

📊 Here’s what the numbers show:
• 1 in 3 Canadians who menstruate have struggled to afford products (Plan International Canada, 2023).
• Many rural and remote communities have limited access to affordable supplies.
• Period poverty impacts education, employment, and dignity.

💬 Access to period care is a human right — not a privilege.

The R.E.D Campaign is working to change that by reaching, educating, and distributing Period Packs to our local community.
