A scary story... 👁
This is the story of Emily, a 13-year-old girl who wanted to dress up as a demon for her Halloween party. Giving in to her daughter's incessant requests, her mother bought her some contact lenses from a costume shop.
She caused a sensation with her demonic eyes!
The story took a turn for the worse the next morning.
Emily felt intense pain. 😵 Opening her eyes was torture. During the party, an ulcer had developed on her cornea and worsened overnight. This can happen quickly if you wear lenses that are poorly fitted to the shape of your cornea and don't allow enough oxygen to pass through.
Emily and her mother had the scare of their lives...
Emily could have lost her sight. Fortunately, she managed to get an appointment that same day with an optometrist who was able to treat her corneal ulcer.
Despite numerous warnings, these stories repeat year after year. 😥
Colored and fantasy lenses should only be purchased from eye care professionals who will perform all the necessary checks with a biomicroscope before letting you leave with them.
